Term limits - He could retire but probably has other offices in mind -

David Biggerstaff or Dave Cornett, Todd Dalton, they would bring structure to the sheriff's office, we need a retired state trooper in there, no more local policemen. Wally, come on now, be serious.
No way on state police. These guys, excluding Cornett before he retired, never did anything in Pulaski County. None executed search warrants for drugs or made any serious cases. Same as all of our KSP guys. They are semi-retired before they ever retire.

Just listen to the scanner. They refuse to answser 911 polls. Very lazy in this area.

I just don't see that. Everyone can be bought. It's not like those positions are high paying positions.
I too, disagree with this post. Many police officers are honest family people. That's why American's surveyed put them in the top five professions as being honest. Soldiers were #1.

I disagree, they would bring some sort of structure to the sheriff's office, something that hasn't been there in years, those guys would follow protocol.

That would be highly doubtful. Their sergeants at post level do not care about their men's activity or their help to the public. Most only care about their jobs, their agency and their retirement. I've never seen KSP doing any community activities like some police departments do.
We need a working police force to stop our drug epidemic, not a structured department just to be structured.

I would like someone new to be sheriff, but who is a honest man or woman that would stay that way after they are elected. There are a few good people out there, but who really would be in charge and make all the decisions? We would need new deputies also,(ones that doesnt beat up people,) and work to help the community as a whole..

Yes. There is something wrong when murders are written off as suicides without adequate investigations. But, heck, what can be expected from sheriffs that cannot track a rabbit in snow, but are experts at smiling and shaking hands?

a structured police force will not stop drug epidemic. You need three things, education, treatment, and legalization.

I must agree with rise again, except LEGALIZATION. We don't need more impaired drivers, workers or parents. We need more honest and responsible citizens.

Law enforcement certainly can not be the answer by itself, but responsible adults in this country can.

Legalization is by no means an answer to this problem.

B.S. You need to live in the real world.Name just one that is not heavy handed, greedy, full of self, think that their god, gods gift to the other sex, blow hearts, and the list goes on and on.The reason these people get and keep this job is not to help people it's for the power of the position.
