well. the problem with that would be that most people who draw ssi are disabled and are already taking medicine. So what are you hoping to accomplish

To check for illegal drugs. Doing pill counts would also help some.

Unfortunately this is true, but the doctors know....who is and who isn't. I apologize for those that are diabled and already taking medication, but there are those that just take what they can get and sell the rest. Sorry if I offended anyone, it's the dealers and those that get their medical paid for and turn around and sell their meds for a profit that make me angry.

We have seen him on here before "Wondering" and he has came right out and said that he is trying to get women worked up. We know he is the same person with different names, just trying to spread his hatred for women and anyone else getting welfare, food stamps, or checks!!!!!!
Please read what I have posted about him, and if you don't believe it now, I am sure you will evenually.:::::::::
Please don't pay any attention to this guy who keeps posting under different names and also as a guy or a girl. He has a hangup about " big titted fat guy sow women drawing food stamps, welfare checks, or crazy checks" as he calls them in different threads. I hope one of these days everyone will just not believe any thing he says and not get mad, because that is what he wants. That way he feels that his hangup is ok, and he wants others to think that everyone else feels the same way that he does,so that is why he posts under several names, male or female. As someone stated on another thread, he want people to think that he has lots of friends.
Please read my post on here right after your posting. That is what he is doing, same spelling on the words "Obamer" instead of "obama" and he is using alot of capital letters, which I have been told that is when someone wants to yell or get their point across. Also he uses alot of the same punctuation!!!!!!!!!! and so forth.
Everyone is starting to catch on to his hangup and his cruel abusive remarks and they have been reporting him and his threads and postings are sometimes being removed. Alot of people that are usually kind and are saying nice things on here are getting mad at these so called posters and saying very mean things back. That is just what he wants to get people mad, because like I said he has a real hangup. He also likes to post under other peoples names, so that people will think that it is them posting and not him.
There is alot of good kind people on topix and topix is really a good thing, but this person who continues to stay on here makes topix look bad and sometimes people don't want to come back, if they don't know what is going on. And those people might just have some good information that could have been shared with us had they stayed on topix. Please don't let one rotten apple spoil the whole bushel as they say. Thank you for posting!!! Keep coming back.

If someone is taking prescription medications, that would be easily verified by their Doctor. Illegal drugs would be what to check for, along with non prescribed medications. Many companies require this to work for them, so why should someone living off the government be any different?

If someone comes back positive for illegal drugs, they should be offered the chance to get clean, and then monitored closer. If they decline the help to get clean, or continues to use then loose their benefits or at the very least loose their rights to use their benefits where ever they choose.

While on the 'probation' the receipts of the money/food stamps/etc they are receiving should be monitored. Yes, this would cause more work for the already over-worked case workers to start with, but in the term would most likely ease their case loads tremendously.

Of course the children who were suppose to be benefiting from the Welfare in the first place would be the ones who ultimately suffer. But, there is ways to ensure the money goes to purchase exactly what it was intended for. If a company such as the one I work for can have credit cards designated to only be accepted at certain places and declined at any other, surely the government has the same capabilities. Set guidelines for the people who have children and are receiving Welfare and tested positive for drugs. The only store they can purchase food is store X, they must go to store Y to use their cash benefits. I would hate to see the children suffer, at least any more than they already are. But their is ways to monitor the use of government assistance that has never been explored.
Further more if the recipient does not have children, and continues to use, cut their benefits out!

That is just my opinion, Good thing I will never be president, I have a lot of opinions about the wastefulness that is going on with our government.

most good jobs do random drug testing government or private co. i feel if you are drawing a check you should be tested for drugs and std,s if you test pos.for something not prescribed to you you lose your free ride.if you have a std that can be cured you must get clean and stay clean to keep your free ride. its a lifestyle choice, that most hardworking people can make on their own,but the freeloading bums cant make for themselves.so yes lets get the bloodwork going.im tired of financing the endless party of sex and drugs,i work 60 to 70 hours a week. a very large portion of my check goes to taxes, its time for hardworking americans to get mad and make some rules for the lowlifes that we support.

Not , by God , while they're drawing a check from " everyone's " tax money - Set up a drug screening station at the Post Office or at their bank - Pass the test or no check - All in favor , say AYE -

Just So you know buddy I paid in my taxes for 10 yrs before I got hurt and had to start as you say "Living off the Government" it are people like you that make me sick why don't you get a real life and have a little compasion for someone that is in a situation they didn't ask to be put in. You know bad things happen to good people every day and you never know when it could be you so don't be so quick to judge someone just because they are disabled!!!!!!!!!!

Duh Braniac..The people that conduct random drug testing only check for illegal drugs. If a person is prescribed an illegal drug, then they have to list it, and the quantities can be checked to make sure they are taking their medication as required!

Sorry about your addiction. Wouldn't you like to have some help?

As far as the excuse "people take medication", drug testing will show if they are taking medication at "the prescribed level". That is a cop out to use as an excuse.

I don't have an addiction. I'd just like to smoke me a big fatty every now and then but I can't because of my job. I think it's a load of BS that I work and support me and mine and I can't burn one on occation.

And do you think thats fair for your employer? He gives you a job and pays you and expects the best out of you, and then you want to "smoke you a fatty", how old are you? Gee...hope you never need heart surgery and your dr decides to "smoke him a fatty" before he operates on you, i've read many of your posts and the impression i get from you is that you are a pretty IGNORANT individual with no morals, if you feel the need to "smoke a fatty" then quit your job and let someone else have it that will value it more than you do and just sit your azz at home and get all "smoked up"!

Since the vast majority of the most illicit and harmful drugs actually detoxify within days of ingestion, the vast majority of those who test positive will be those with cannabinoids (pot) in their system.

You know ... the least harmful drug currently illegal? The drug that is medicinally legal in some states? The drug that many are considering decriminalizing altogether?

For instance, I actually knew a guy who played college basketball back in the '80s, and he enjoyed/preferred smoking pot, but he switched to alcohol and cocaine because he was much less likely to incur a positive test for those. He's still fighting alcoholism to this day.

I mean, a guy who won eight freakin' gold medals at last summer's Olympics smokes pot ... countless numbers of NBA players do, too. Honestly, how harmful can it be? Answer: not very.

And by its very nature, drug-testing is really just "pot-testing".
