This communtie will collapse then. Sooner or later tax revenues will have to come from another source,

So when your taxes go up ...
(doubt you pay any)

And they start cutting services because their is no income (Cops, fire etc)..you will be the first one bitchin I'll bet!

I love FREEDOM. Not someone TELLING what I can buy of a LEGAL product.

Make tobacco illegal then too, thats REAL DOPE

Signed - raise taxes and cut services...

Holmeed, I couldn't have said that better myself! I can see this town going down hill. I don't even drink bit I think we could use some better restrants here. Which creats jobs! If u don't drink then u don't have to buy the stuff. Ur probly worried about drunk ppl in this community however everyone goes to the next town ove and spends all their money sumwhere else and brings it back here. So there is already drunk ppl here. Get over it and let ppl live their own life!

Its not even an issue of wet/dry....but more of legally wet as oppossed to illegally wet. Somerset has been backwoods embarrassing for many moons. Please allow for progress and for others to live their lives as they choose.

note: God gives us choice

No Vote is on any time frame for this area Pulaski County or Somerset to go wet.

ANYONE who wants to see Pulaski go wet would need to ban together and get As Many REAL signatures as Possible then Head straight to the court house to present Legal Names and signatures so it could be put onto the voting ballad.

Personally I think it's Sad to watch as other areas like Boyle County (Danville) THRIVE with their sales. HAVE U SEEN Their Updated Main St? WOW SO NICE! It's NOT a bunch of drunks running the streets OR Crime Sky Rocketing, it's People being able to find jobs it's buiness owners Finally getting some relief!

Personally I don't really drink but I do see all the benefits that come to towns that go wet.

Just my Two Cents worth.

I say hell yeah to the sales of alcohol. I do not understand alot of the people that Bitch about alcohol coming to their town, but lord let me tell ya, go to other counties and boy oh boy don't you see them pouring the booze down themself, why not have sales in your town, hell that way you want have to drive so far and take a chance on getting yourself pulled over and get a DUI or kill someone. And you have a choice to go to the place that sales it or go to another place all kinds of places in Somerset to eat. So please quit your Bitching. Just my point of view on the matter

There is a huge thread in the Whitley City Topix forums about legalized sales in McCreary county. Apparently they're going to vote on it in November.

Already you have the standard lies being thrown out by the Prohibition forces.

Yeah, wine in the Bible ain't really wine, it's grape juice!

Unless, of course, you're talking about a verse that says wine is bad, then it's really talking about wine, not grape juice!

Liars and deceivers!

I was under the impression that most people in Somerset were hurting financially so where is money to buy alcohol going to come from? No I am not against Somerset going wet I just dont see how people will magically have money when they cant even pay their bills. Also this country needs to learn money management very badly instead of just taxing everything possible....

The possesion of liquor in Somerset IS legal. The consumption of liquor in Somerset at HOME is legal. The consumption of Liquor in public in Somerset is Illegal. The sale of liquor in Somerset is illegal.
Funny thing is, the second an individual steps onto the sidewalk from a restaurant after consuming alchohol, a stagger, hesitation or wobble in their walk could be percieved as someone who may pose a threat to themselves or others by staggering into oncoming traffic thereby causing an accident. I may well be mistaken but the last I knew being drunk,((AND I DID SAY DRUNK and by definition 1 beer or 1 ounce of whiskey consumed in less than 1 hour equates to a BA greater than the legal definition of .08%)) in a public place was illegal, even if the alchohol was purchased legally.
