Yeah I hung with Rat/Chet sometimes. I remember that crazy Lifeguard doing wild stuff off the high Dive during Breaks. Can't remember his name but he had kinda curly goldish Hair. Freinds & I use to sneek in after dark and Dive off the Building and swim around until the people who lived across from it would call the police. We always saw them coming though and was long gone...LOL Them were the days!!!!!!!!

glad to help bring the great times back, if only for a few moments..but you guys need to get together again. True friends are rare as i'm sure you've found out, and childhood friends are extra special!

You're right, they sure were the good old days. It's too bad our kids don't experience the same things we did back then. Things have changed. I see some of those people here in town. One of the guys that lived on that street died of cancer I think. But as far as I know everyone else in the neighborhood is around somewhere. I also lived close and even if I wasn't at the pool, I saw everyone coming and going. I think that was the most popular street in town back then.

Do any of you on here recall the tower that was located in the middle of the adult pool. The thing was two-tiered with the top most diving board about 20 feet up? Oh those warm and wonderful summer days at Hill Crest Pool off of Elliott Drive.

I remember trying to dive all the way to the bottom of the deep end to try and fetch what looked like a hundred dollar bill. Never quite made it though ;0)

The pool was a wonderful remory. Like everyone has said "Good clean Fun".. That was the place to go and everyone was nice to each other. All kinds of different type people, but everyone was nice . A reunion would be nice. The Chester Copeland bombs were the sh??t. The Phelps boys and Jimmy Day and Jimmy Ard were some of my moms favorites since we lived close they would always visit her as nice guys.(had a sister their age too) Those were the days!!!!FUN!!!

Summer in the 70's----Sleep late, Go to the pool at 1:00 stay until 5:00, head home to shower and eat, then head to G.E. field to hang and watch the BOYS OF SUMMER play. Those days are some of the fondest in my memories.
