This person may be diabetic ,Sometimes diabetics have a very bad breath that brushing 6 times a day and a gallon of regular mouthwash will not help. This person if he/she is diabetic needs to talk to a dental specialist about a prescribed mouthwash that will stop the bad odor.

They could have lung cancer and the smell coming from when they breathe or it also could be bad teeth and infected gums .Also a bacteria infection will cause the bad smell .They need medical attention but Fennel herb & termeric from a health food store will
help so much , they are 2 great herbs that work
and will take care of the problem .

Sometimes it is just simply poor hygiene. I have noticed this in perfectly healthy people.

Have them try Therabreath products either toothpaste or mouthwash or both. U can usually find at Walmart but if not rite aid or cvs. It is expensive for a reason...it works!

A good way to tell if it is from their teeth is to look at their gums and if they are swollen and red and sometimes bleeding, then they have gingivitis that is caused from lack of oral hygiene. I can't stand bad breath constantly.

You could ask them if they have a sinus infection. This often causes bad breath. And it is signs of other health problems, you are doing them a favor by telling them that they have a certian smell and you think it could be a sign of an illness.
