Im not saying that I think she was innocent, but that does not justify pouring lighter fluid on some one, he EASILY could have killed her like that...

I couldnt agree more...plus, you dont pour lighter fluid on someone without intentions of setting them on fire! He should be charged with attempted murder not 2nd degree assault

Wow I don't really think his side matters, the fact is he poured lighter fluid on someone!!! There is no justification to that!

We never know what is going on is someones elses life. You can look at someone and think they have everything going for them and they are living the idea life, but people have a way of only showing you the part of their lives that they want you to see. It makes you wonder how well do you really know somebody. I am glad to hear that Cody is an awesome person, but awesome people can be pushed to their limits too.

I don't knowe the guy but anyone that knows anything about lighter fluid the charcoal type or cigarette lighter type knows that the stuff catches fire quickly and easily while burning relatively slow. That is NOT what an "awesome person with a good heart" does. I've known several "awesome people" and none of them ever attempted to cover another living thing with lighter fluid.

So if you can show me where the positive in this is I'm glad to hear it. But until them I'm forced to see you as delusional. Or maybe it's just that I'm not awesome and can't get my head wrapped around the idea of making human candles.

It's no different than an animal that takes the not so mentioned third option in the flight or fight situation. They just freeze up and wait for the inevitable. I wont begin to get into the psychology of it all. But a battered spouse/significant other in many cases does nothing and many times it just escalates until the one on the short end is killed or hurt enough for someone else to take action. There's a reason why police do not want to go to a domestic call. Many times they end up having to fight them both. It might not make sense looking in from the outside. But that's still what happens. It's one of the many reasons I don't like the phrase that just can't happen. Because even when you know that can't happen sometimes it does.

Why is there such a pattern of individuals in Pulaski County on the hunt to hurt people with fire? I don't know but seems there is a mental illness or drug intoxication that makes people do some of the most horrific things. Look at the last few years and case after case keeps happening of attempt or the burning of human beings. What is wrong in this county and the age group that is in relation to these cases?

There needs to be a study on human behavior in this county and the state of such acts.

I really don't think it's an isolated thing. You just hear more details from more cases in a place where there are not as many incidents you hear more details of each. Of course it just might be a money thing. A bic and some red devil fluid is cheap compared to a pistol.
