Attention at all residents that continue to be ripped off by this instituion. My latest case in point. CT scan done in Cumberland, cost $2,751.00. Re-done in Central Baptist Hospital (due to mis-diagnosis (as usual),$207.00! I rest my case...

I was given a death sentence by these idiots only to find out it was a horrible mis-read and mis-interpreted reading. It's worth the ride to Lexington...

You're welcome. You must share these experiences so others can make their decisions wisely.

The first seems too high and the second seem too low. Do you have health insurance and is the first one hitting the out of pocket limit and the second one is after insurance?

However they do charge through the nose for everything at LCRH. Also be sure to get an itemized bill if you have any procedures there. I've caught them padding the bill with supplies that were not used and were not ordered.

Don't go all the way to Lexington! Make a left at Stanford and come on over to Ephraim McDowell at Danville! Shoot, just stop at Fort Logan at Stanford if you want to stop 11 miles sooner! They will be glad to serve you!

The prices I quoted came from my insurance companie's detailed billing statement. Thanks for the info on Danville, but I have found new doctors in Lexington and am quite happy to date.

I have heard so many horror stories from there lately, people being kicked out cause of no insurance, people waiting for hours to be seen in emergency room, i know their are many good people that work in that hospital, management is horrible and uncaring, its all about the money and now a days the insurance isn't enough anymore, even if you have insurance you can't afford to go to the hospital for any tests or procedures. I have insurance and it was going to cost me 2000.00 my part for a simple nuclear test on my heart to have it done at hospital, had it done in the heart doctors office and they took what insurance paid. LCRH biggest disappointment besides our local government in this city

This hospital has one of the worse records and reps in the state. It's known as the "place to go if you want to die" and I'v beeen there an their lousy. They do as little as possible to help you and usually their wrong in their diagnoses as well.Been there, done that,I wouldn't send a dying dog there much les a human being. What we need here is another hospital,ST.Josephs would be the ideal one to put in this county/town.Do this and Lake Cumberland Regional would cease to exist in a very short amount of time

Refuse to pay until they provide an itemized bill, not just a final bill. They are required to provide one if you ask for it. Then check what the charges are for, see if they are charging for medicines that you didn't get or for tests that they did not do.

Can you cite specific places/documents/records where LCRHhas one of the worst records or reps in the state or are you just spouting off at the mouth? We're waiting.

Yes, and if St. Joes came here you'd be griping and bitching about them before too long too. You could live somewhere where there isn't a hospital close by and then what would you do if something happened?

Well...too bad your not dying. Guess that sucks for you since you seem to sound disappointed that you were misdiagnosed with death.

Cause I'd probably be thankful they were wrong. I'd rather that and get sent to Lexington for follow up and be told I was fine. Than to be told I was fine, go home, do nothing and find out 6 months later I have a disease they coulda done something about 6 months ago if I hadn't gone home thinking I was fine.

I'm in debt to U.K. Hospital, hospitalists, radiologist and untelling who else (bills keep rolling in everyday months after I was there ) for about $20,000 for a surgery and a 5 day stay, 2 if those were in ICU. That's after what my insurance paid (80% after my deductible). So I don't see how you all are saying uk is so cheap.
And If you have insurance I am pretty sure that a second facility that repeats a test can only charge\get paid a portion of what the test would originally cost. And if your in an ER and get sent to another ER the second ER doesn't get paid by insurance. And if they can't bill insurance that means they can't bill the patient so I guess that UK bill was much cheaper than the LCRH bill.

And you never said what the first scan was of? If it was a chest/abdomen/pelvis and the second scan was of a narrower area to focus on where they thought the anomaly was then of course the second scan would be much cheaper.
Nothing amazes me

People leaving the hospital (which I will NEVER go to), and people leaving doctors due to three and four hour waits. I have two doctors in Lexington and have never waited past my appointment time (because I register at least ten minutes early).

I had a Doctor Appt in Lexington this week. I got called back 15 minutes before my appt. The doctor did an interview, exam, and blood work and I was only there 45 minutes. More information and care than a 4 hour visit in Somerset.
