There are people all over the somerset area doing tattoos illegally in their homes. If you know of anyone doing this you can report them to the State Health Services. The Environmental Services will take care of these kitchen jockeys. People like this is what causes Staph infections, Hep C, HIV, Aids, etc.. How important is your life and the life of the ones you love. Report these people now. If you want a tattoo or piercing call one of your legal tattooing studios. Look for them in your yellow pages or online. Here you will get great work, clean, sterile equipment and a safe environment. Dont go to a no talent kitchen jockey and get more than you bargined for. If they were true artist they would work in a professional studio.

6 7 8 4 7 6 1 then connect to the environmental services and report these people.

I have a good friend who was in the hospital for a week because of a staff infection from an amature tattoo artist. It wasn't the first time the guy had done work on him, either.

So ya, it's dangerous.

I hate to tell you one of those that are doing tattoos out of homes has his license to do so. You can not do anything about that he uses sterile equiptment and he sterilizes the area that he works in also.So stop trying to mess w/ a person life and let him make his living however he wants to

If you know for sure that the person is a good artist and if you are 100% sure everything used is sterile and in good working order I don't see anything wrong with it.

But.....

On the other hand, there are alot of amateurs out there that say they're good, use the same equipment and end up giving people really shit*y work and an infection to go along with it.

Whatever you want to do is fine because you're going to do what you want anyways but I would advise that since a tattoo is something that can't be removed easily without lots of money then go to a professional and save yourself the hassle. Better safe than sorry.

I don'y know about here, but where I'm from there are alot of tattoo artists that do it at home because they can not make a living so they have a regular job and tattoo on the side. I think regardless if you get a tattoo at home or in a shop you should know the work and always make sure a brand new needle is used. If I don't see the needle come out of a brand new package and see everything sterilized I won't get a tattoo. Most of my tattoos are from shops but I do have one that was from someone's house and I made sure he was sterile and used a brand new needle. No tattoo is worth getting with a used needle, even if it is boiled in bleach.

call your environmental services. there is absolutely no way that the law allows anyone to tattoo outof their homeregardless how clean they think they are. we'll see when the health inspectors knock on their door.

One cannot receive a permit to tattoo without first proving they are employed at a licensed tattoo studio, and then that license only allows the artist to apply tattoos at the shop that holds his permit. If he leaves a studio and begins working at another, he must reapply for a permit to work at that his new place of employment. Your friend is a lier' I've been in the biz for seventeen years and owned my own studio in Ky for ten years.

My uncle Hans Kraut is probably the most experienced at-home tattoo artist in Kentucky. He worked in Auschwitz during the Third Reich. His work is usually limited to alpha-numeric stuff. He does not use ink and needle but a branding iron, which is a lot quicker, and thus, no need for the work area to be sterilized--allowing him to charge a lot less than the other artists in Somerset. Uncle works out of his garage, so his clients don't have to dress up for their tat visit. He does the regular stuff--Love Mom, Harts with arrows and daggers with roses, etc. Ask for Tattoos by Hans between traffic lights #12 and 14.

true, if its 'free', its not illegal to give a tatoo without a license if its not business oriented.
