He gave that response to inane babble offered by FAA administrator Michael Huerta regarding the Sequester and how the current administration was "making it hurt".

Please, be more specific. What did Rogers say, and to whom? Thanks.

He gave the response to the FAA Director who advised him of the day and means by which he received information from the FAA related to the impact of the sequester. Hal didn't have a clue as usual.

This is what is wrong with politics, a 80 year old that still thinks 60 years ago, career politician that has gotten wealthy while being in public office, this is whats wrong with America.

This is only one of the many things that's wrong with politics today. When our nation was first established, elected office was viewed as an honor, and a temporary one at that. It was not a career path. While many Americans complain about today's "politicians for life," they continue to support the very people that epitomize the problem. The reality is that, for most Americans, political longevity is only a problem when it occurs within "the other party."

I lived in Ohio when Cry Baby Boehner ran for office the first time. His battle cry was, "I'll not be a career politician! One term and I'm out! Career politicians are what's wrong with this country!" Well, he got in, and twenty years later, you couldn't get him out of DC with a stick of dynamite. To me, what seems wrong with the country are the people who keep voting these idiots into office.

Hal has done more for our area than anyone in history. Personally I think he is a hero. Liberals can bash all you want but facts is facts.

Facts are, he was a attorney in the 60's and 70's, he made squat and now he is a multi millionaire after being in public office for 30 years, keeping up two households. Making 120,000 a year or so, tell me how he got rich CH? In somerset you can live great on that, in Washington DC, be lucky to eat on that there.

Next time around, younger voters will not vote for any over the hill gang. They want fresh blood to improve living and working conditions.

I really think he started out to do good and he has done some good for eastern ky, i just believe after so many years in that environment , it could change any decent man, except for John Sherman Cooper, now he represented us well. Too bad it was before my time. People like Rogers, Harry Reid, McConnell, Nancy Pelosi and many more, its time for them to go. Time for the younger ones to take over and see what they can do. Can't do any worse than 17 trillion in debt, 8% unemployment, 13% for blacks. 4 dollar a a gallon of gas, terrible expensive health care.

It could be your perception of good and bad. I think Rogers is far better than Cooper. Rogers has represented my views since he was first elected. Bad politics is why I 75 runs through Corbin and London and not somerset. I75 was designed to follow hwy 27 through Somerset (Coopers hometown) but he had the road moved east at a much higher cost to taxpayers so he could get support from conservative Democrats in the old 5th district. As a consolation we got the community College. And that is why the London campus is still named Somerset community college. It would be nuts to remove Rogers especially if you live in Pulaski county. He has done more for this county than any other in the 5th district. Since the development of Pikeville and other Eastern ky communities it will be unlikely that the next 5th district Congressman will be from this area. He voted against Nafta and Obamacare. That's enough for me.
