tonight a shooting closed down the intersection of the bypass and murphy ave into ferguson. not sure if it was roadrage or something personal.. four firetrucks.. several city police crusers , sheriffs dept, and state police were on the scene and a hellicopter. each one costing the taxpayers. why do they shoot a fly off the wall with a shotgun by makeing us pay for fire trucks and helicoptor. guess we find out what it was all about in the paper.

Shoot manfromwest, that helicopter gas is cheap. I bet it couldn't be a few more dollars on the gallon than say, regular unleaded. Probably only used a few hundred gallons. That's chicken feed here in the rich pulaski county.

That is good..."shooting a fly off the wall with a shotgun", just poor management and I don't know what?

If YOU are ever in need of tax supported life-saving services, just tell the 911 dispatcher to not waste the money on you...When no one comes to your aid, at least you'll suffer with a clean conscience. Your statement is perhaps one of the most ridiculous things I've read on this site...and that's really saying something.

Grimace has it right, it was a road rage incident and the victim, a trucker was dusted off to Lexington seriously shot. when it comes to emergency services we get our bucks worth.

manfromthenews, it could be a loved one, a friend, or yourself in need. me thinks you are invulnerable to injuries so you may not need them, however we mere Mortals are glad to have them you dumbshit!

If it was my loved one on the side of the road hurt, I don't give a crap if they sent for every single county service we have to show up and help save their life. When all was said and done, if money was owed my friends and family would find a way to pay it in full. I was under the impression that this helicopter transport was partially a tax paid service anyway, so if I'm wrong then someone please correct me. I was also under the impression that personal insurance also covered some of the costs.. Again, if I'm wrong please correct me.

I can thank the good Lord I've never had to find out for myself. So if anyone can tell me differently as to how this service is really paid for, thank you in advance.

I begrudge no one for emergency services that they need. We aren't the police, nor are we the investigators or EMT squad. If the resources are there, USE THEM TO SAVE A LIFE. Also, use them to catch whoever is responsible.

I hope whoever was hurt is going to be okay. There should never be a price tag attached to someones life.. I also hope they catch whoever did it, if indeed it was a case of road rage.

Bill the attacker for it that appeases anyone.

You complain about using emergency resources to save someone's life, while at the same time advocate pouring money into restoring a dilapidated, rotting building downtown. Misplaced priorities perhaps?

All those emergency vehicles you see have a purpose and certain tools. When dispatched emergency responders never really know what they will be facing, so yes they should bring Everything they have. Gas money be damned.

There had better not be any charges against the shooter. He must have felt threatened and was just Standing His Ground®. Good thing he was packing a gun.

Evidently the truck driver had intended to let the incident pass. The hot head decided to pursue the 2nd wrong--not willing to admit that his wife used bad judgment in pulling out in front of the semi. He had time to simmer down, but chose to let passion rule. If the truck driver dies as a result of the gunshot wound, the shooter should be charged with murder.

I don't recall mentioning anything about restoring a building, the new public square, or planting flowers and grass in the median of 27. I responded about your position about the response of civil servants being a waste of money. Your rebuttal holds no relevance in the defense of your original, ridiculous post.

I for want several police and others there because you don't know and they don't know if there isn't someone else involved. There could be more people that fled or what ever. You strike me as the kind of guy that complains about the crime but when they do their job you complain about how many of them are doing it. It's not a part of the govt. overspending, it's about protecting and serving the community.

Sounds right. The truck driver got out of his vehicle with a large stick or club ... a much deadlier weapon than a bag of Skittles or the sidewalk.

It was said that the wife pulled out in front of the semi with plenty of room for the semi. The semi driver then began tailgating. When the semi went around them he didn't get all the way over and run the vehicle onto the median the couples 4 year old daughter was with them. The shooter then got out at the intersection and began beating on the truck. The truck driver then got out of the truck with a club or a ball bat and hit the man the he shot him.
My opinion running you off the road or not is not reason to get out and shoot someone it sickens me.He needs to learn violence is not the answer.

There are a lot of very dumb, very angry people out there that are carrying various types of weapons. The verdict in Floridaonly emboldens them. Be careful out there.
