I now take my money (and wifes)to Lexington then. Go every month and stock up, eat out there and dont spend in the local community. Boycott . Its called solidarity. Stick together, hope gas prices lower ..

There are already over 40 threads about going wet. Was it really necessary to start another? As I have said on several other threads, go where liquor is if that is what you want in your community. Keep it out of ours.

It will one day when property taxes and other local taxes don't pay the bills and they need more money and figure how much they can receive from tax on liquor and beer.

This is true, in most civilized communities. However, Somerset is not one of those communities and people here are poor, there is no employment and every other house is for sale. Serving only in certain resturants only creates problems with people that do not know how to handle a nice cold drink with dinner, all of these establishments then become bars. So, I don't understand why it is ok to serve alcohol in certain resturants but not to have bars or liquor stores? I am a waitress and would much rather have these drunks doing their thing at home than coming in to get trashed while poeple are trying to eat with their families. I saw you have an Indianapolis server address, I miss that town sooo much, that's where I moved from. And I will be going back the first chance I get, as fast as I can drive!!

I tell you I agree with the above poster and boycott the same things except We spend all our family's money in Richmond. Better places to eat and no medieval alcohol laws.

im a responsable drunk i like to drink when ever the time is right i believe somerset should go wet it would bring more buisness nad tourism to the area. the money would be rolling in. i would like to have a .99 margarita and beer right now , wouldn't you? A person can go out and drink a certan amount and handle thierselves just fine until someone messes with them then your ruining a perfect buzz that they worked so hard on getting an hour earlier. Now you peaple that are hating on a tradition thats being going on since the begging of time.

Breaks my heart! Hey I got an idea, why not move back to where you were? Sorry our community didn't change for you as soon as you moved here.

Wow, we have an economic guru on our hands! Yeah, Burnside is really reaping the rewards. Big tourism and economic boost there.

Poor Somerset is STILL in the dark ages?! That sucks. You guys deserve the same rights as the rest of us. What's the deal with Somerset? How come nobody has ever done anything about this problem up until this point??

cause this place is 20yrs behind the rest of the world..and always will be..people here are to stupid to have booze..think not? go to the pubs at closing time and just watch..I still want it wet, maybe it would change with the extra tax coming in? people would buy here and a few jobs would come open..
or stay dry and small so the same people can dictate the gas prices and who and what bussness come to town..

I had a wealthy out of town man tell me one time. someday it will be to big for them to control EVERYTHING?..then it will grow? still waiting..and I drink very little..

people are so afraid for their neighbors to find out they like a little drink now and then, it is public record and these baptist bastards and all these do-gooders make a point to have the names of everybody who signs the petition to go wet published in the paper, and nobody wants to be linked to it, therefore nobody does anything but continue to drive somewhere else and get it and hide it, this town is so 2 faced and full of back stabbers.
