No, no, no.
I think the Islamic faith is hostile to "freedom" in exactly the same way Christianity is. All faiths of that nature will try to prevent you from thinking outside the box. The Bible has some passages that warn you about people who talk sense but are there to mislead you. That's a form of cult-like mind control.
The reason terrorists do what they do is more political than religious. The religion definitely plays a role. If you believe in God and heaven and you think you are on the right side of the argument then blowing yourself up is probably a little easier. But the reason you do it is because you are making a political statement. It is the act of a person desperate to demonstrate some kind of power over a more powerful enemy. At least to some degree.
The cartoonish idea that the fly planes into buildings because they "hate freedom" is silly and insulting to everyone's intelligence.
Also, for the record, the minute you suggest nuking ANYTHING you have went off the rails. That's just insane. You'd really want to kill millions of people, including children? And what exactly would that accomplish? You gonna nuke the entire desert?
It's stupid. And it would be far more evil than any terrorist who ever lived.
i disagree with you my friend.. if the terrorist nuts wont stop attacking the free world because we are not of their faith. the only way to solve the problem is to eliminate them.. and islam is against freedom and that is why they want to destroy us and our civilization.. in muslum nations women are slaves and have to keep faces covered and cannot drive cars. children are just as inslaved by that faith. if they just live their lives as they want to and leave our part of the world alone i would have no problem with them.. to each his own.. but when they attack us.. they ask for war with us.. they are the aggressors. we are just responding to their madness... fight fire with fire.. eliminate them all

I'm glad you aren't in a position to make decisions about war.

Again, I'm not defending Islam. I think it is a stupid, hateful religion. But Christianity is only different in degrees, not in content. Under Christianity, if you take it literally and are true to your Bible, women are beneath men and it is ok to do all kinds of horrible things to people who are outside the faith.

So you are ok with killing all the Muslim children? I'm talking about babies, toddlers, teens, etc. You're ok with burning them to ashes, shooting them with bullets, crushing them with collapsing roofs?

Because you seem to be. And that is something I cannot agree to.

agree that so many have been killed in Gods name in all religions.. crusades/ spanish inquisition etc.. that was result of mens decisions and not part of the faith...as taught in bible. all i am saying is the fanitical teachings of islam is taught to all ages...to end the terrorism got to eliminate the terrorists. yeah it scares me if i was president so dont vote for me.. i would defend my family as well as my country from an attacker ..no matter of age or sex.. when dealing with killers and terrorists... we got to fight them as they fight us.. we cant keep letting those nuts kill our women and children . they are not civilized and it is a shame that we have to make war on them.. my point is if they dont change attitudes.. we have to rid their threat to us one way or other.... eliminate them not for sake of our faith but for sake of our nation and citizens who are being slaughtered by the muslum fanatics. they made war on us.. they started it by attacking world trade center and our embassys. car bombs.. etc. more killed at world trade center than pearl harbor....muslum fanatics are enemys of the worlds civilization... it is a shame but that is how it is..we have muslums in our nation raising money to buy bullets to kill our soldiers overseas..they are in our schools. dr's in our hospitals..there is a mosque right here in pulaski county. they say they are against terrorrists but the killers of their faith praise allah when they are killing us... same faith.. we got to do something besides wait for them to attack us again.

That's about as correct as the statement that the westboro baptist church is representative of all Christian denominations

The westboro fake church is most likely a group of atheists and gays acting out their interpretation of real churches in order to sway public opinion to the liberal side. It's a hoax that could have been exposed long ago, but I'm guessing our liberal media likes what they're doing.

That's some sweeping accusations. Evidence?

It is more likely they are a mix of money-seekers and genuine believers just waiting for someone to get mad enough to do something they can sue for.

There was a guy on the Reasonable Doubts podcast who had a chance to speak with one of them at an event where they were protesting. He approached him with as much patience and politeness as he could. And it turns out the guy did not want to be there, and did not want to be protesting. However, he said he felt like it was God's request and he was merely doing a duty.

Clearly most of them are nuts. The rest, I think, are either criminals or waiting for a good chance to get out of the cult.

The idea that they are "atheists and gays" is really stupid. It sounds like an "I know you are but what am I?" sort of playground response.

For one, no other chruch on the planet behaves that way. They act out the stereotype that the gay/atheist crowd always try to pigeonhole them to be. I mean look at the threads these atheist moron start on here. They'll obsess for days about how stupid and evil churches are. I always wonder who they're talking about.
I'm not a church goer, but since I moved to this area the only things I've known the church people to do is take up and distribute food and money to the poor, send money over seas, run daycares and orphages. I've known of Christian doctors that give free healthcare from their church for poor people. They also go to third world countries for short and long term medical missionary tours. If your house burns down they'll collect housewares to help you get started again and so on. I've lived here about 10 years and I think they've stopped by about 4 different times to invite us to church. I went one time and it was nothing like these atheist try to say it is. they're alot of very normal people having a good time and talking some about how to make themselves better people.
I don't know if westboro is an atheist ruse or not, but they do act exactly like atheist try to frame the church to be and odder things have been done. Also, I've never heard of any subtsantial atheist or gay charities that even come close to matching the volume of work the church charities do. The only thing I ever here from the gay/atheist crowd is alot of whining about something for themselves.
