There you go making sense again. Why do you do that?
I don't really like Ron Paul (his social ideas are as nutty as they come) but he often does say things that make sense. When he spoke the truth about 9/11 at that Tea Party debate and was booed for it you can really tell how uninformed people are. Just look at the dumbfounded face of Rick Santorum around 58 seconds in. "Duh....what words he sayin'?"

Yeah, even Christians aren't Christians, since they booed THE GOLDEN RULE. Apparently, some (not all) Christians believe in the golden rule, except when it comes to government. Oh, they can do what they want. God warned us in I Samuel what governments would do, and tried to tell us we shouldn't.

And 9/11 was blowback form our government's and military's UNPROVOKED interventions in the Middle East since 1953. Read history before ramming foot in mouth.
not really the same thing... the old testement is recorded history of ancient episodes.. the new teaches love for all our fellow men and no mention of policy of killing unchristians. the koran teaches jehad. not sure how to spell it... sorry. kill infidels.. non muslums. it is a finanical religion that all followers believe in and kneel and pray toward mecca daily.. there is a big difference in bible and koran. the finatics that hijacked the planes and flew them and passengers into the world trade center were praiseing allah as they terrorized the united states of america.. NOT THE SAME THING.

You really ave a distorted view of the world. If we don't understand the "enemy", then we'll never be able to end the violence.

The one sin Afghanistan are fighting because we've invaded them long ago. Our government and military are the enemies over there and here. If you can't see that, then you're part of the problem.

No, you calling our military the enemy and wanting to be friends with the people who chant "death to America" makes you the biggest part of the problem. They want you and your family dead too.. No discrimination there. Any non Muslim = death. I bet you really believe that you do your own thinking , don't you?

The koran is protected from disrespect from infidels. Deface a koran publicly or draw a cartoon of mohammed publicly and see if they don't put a price on your head. The problem Muslims are still living by the koran today and still believe in "jihad" . Your wanting to be understanding with them and turn traitor by calling your own country the enemy...that's pretty stupid.

A few points of criticism here:

1) The Jewish Bible (OT) is not simply a collection of historical events. Some of the events are based loosely on history, most are not or at best cannot be verified. It also includes talking snakes, spontaneous combustion, wizards, witches, demons, and an all-powerful being that kills nearly everything on the planet with rain. The word for that is "mythology".

2) Most Muslims understand Jihad to be more akin to a righteous quest or something like that. Kind of like the way some groups of Christians and others will boycott some product or company or event in the name of Jesus. A Jihad is similar to that and does not necessarily have anything to do with violence. The problem is the people with the loudest voices are the ones we hear the most. They tend to blow themselves up. Over here the loudest voices in Christianity tend to protest at abortion clinics, protest at soldier's funerals, and do their damnedest to get Creationism taught as science.

I totally agree though that the Koran and the Muslim culture are far more susceptible to the violent expression of religious faith. But there are billions of them and if they were all terrorists we'd already be dead.

well they have declared war on civilization when they attacked us and terrorized targets all over the globe.. i dont approve of christians doing those things you mentioned either but the muslums have raised the bar to global attacks. not protests.. that is the difference and why the civilized world is at war with muslum nations.. amen

If you truely want to understand Muslims you must listen to what they say and know they mean it....

I don't disagree that it was Islamic terrorists who have done these terrible things and will continue to do them. I disagree that the "civilized world" is at war with "muslim nations". I think that is painting with too broad a brush.

Some countries are engaged in conflicts with groups that promote or carry out acts of terrorism. True.

My main problem is the danger of painting Muslims as cartoon figures who "hate freedom". That is a gimmick that the last President tried to sell and it just isn't accurate. It creates a strawman that people attack. Meanwhile the real problem goes unaddressed.

Look, I'm an opponent of all religious thinking. So I'm not trying to give Islam any kind of special pass. I think it is a stupid religion that engenders the worst kinds of human behavior. But the difference between Muslims and Christians is just a matter of degree, not necessarily of substance.

im a christian and i dont condone the attacks on abotion clinics or that nut church that protests military funerals.. but muslums do hate freedom and have declared war on the non muslum world.. they dont allow freedom within their followers and hate the rest of the world that does fight for freedom.. that is why they attacked us at world trade center.. all we can do is defend ourselves as long as those rag head nuts are trying to eliminate the free world.... as i said before. if we kill enough of them.. they wont have anyone left to hijack airplanes to attack americans.. lets start by nukeing mecca...

No, no, no.

I think the Islamic faith is hostile to "freedom" in exactly the same way Christianity is. All faiths of that nature will try to prevent you from thinking outside the box. The Bible has some passages that warn you about people who talk sense but are there to mislead you. That's a form of cult-like mind control.

The reason terrorists do what they do is more political than religious. The religion definitely plays a role. If you believe in God and heaven and you think you are on the right side of the argument then blowing yourself up is probably a little easier. But the reason you do it is because you are making a political statement. It is the act of a person desperate to demonstrate some kind of power over a more powerful enemy. At least to some degree.

The cartoonish idea that the fly planes into buildings because they "hate freedom" is silly and insulting to everyone's intelligence.

Also, for the record, the minute you suggest nuking ANYTHING you have went off the rails. That's just insane. You'd really want to kill millions of people, including children? And what exactly would that accomplish? You gonna nuke the entire desert?

It's stupid. And it would be far more evil than any terrorist who ever lived.
