Got fuel at Speedway in London,3.17 a gallon regular. When I got back here 3.64 a gallon.(30 minutes later) This is ridiculous! We need to do something. I admit I don't have a plan but we need to band together and brainstorm and petition for a redress of grievances!

It would be interesting to know how Speedway justifies their pricing. We've given up on trying to figure out how Shell, Kroger, and WalMart in Somerset set their prices.

I'm not sure on all of it, but I do know that stores like Kroger, Walmart and some gas stations call each other daily to set prices. That way they are all stay about the same.

I doubt it. That would be price fixing.

Somerset mafia. The city does not care, they now have their own gas station. I wonder what price they are getting their gas for.

What we need is a gas co-op where the members own the station and not skim off the top 10 to 30 cents. I would be willing to buy into that.

Just imagine how much money the new refinery is making if they are selling locally at $3.60/gallon.

If you bought a tank load at London and brought it to Somerset and sold it at these prevailing prices, you could make about $4000 on one truckload.

I worked with a lady whose husband was involved with the oil companies. It is a fact that they call each other daily to set the prices. It isn't the oil companies that would make the $4000. It would be the station owners. The oil companies don't charge the stations $3.60 per gallon.

If London is getting their gas $0.50 cheaper, it would be the trucking company making the profit.

Gas is awfully high around here.

Why can't we discuss it on Topix?

Better yet, why can't we get a reasonable explanation why it's higher in Somerset?

Gas in London tonight is 3.52 a gallon at the exit stations at the interstate for regular unleaded as of one hour ago give or take a few minutes. I just came back through there tonight and so did my brother this afternoon. You getting it for 2.85 is a lie just to piss people off even more. And why is every station around here the same every day? It's not just one or two stations no matter what company it is.
