You have to love America, when it comes to government everything is open to public records.

Go to state of Ky business license site and type it in. Then you will see the employee's that work for the city and own this company that sells natural gas to the city, one is a department head and the other is a employee of his. I wonder if they do gas business while on the cities time?

Can you give me the URL of the site you're talking about? Thanks.

Never mind. It's Charlie Dick and Adam Gwin. Right? So does anyone in town know about this or has it been hush hush?

The council knows, some ethics board members know, now lets see if they will do anything about it? The common citizens do not know, they try to keep things like this hid. They either need to quit the city or quit selling natural gas to the city, one of the two. Its up to the council to bring this to light and deal with it. If they think this is right , then they need come out and say that.

It is according to which one of the council members knows whether it will be brought out or not, if an ethics member knows about this and don't do anything, then they can be held liable because they have to take an oath of office to uphold the law, also whoever on the council that knows and does nothing can be held liable

OK just because Girdler says its okay doesn't mean its okay, what research was done to see if what he was saying is the truth or not. Did anyone ask the ethic's board members to look into this? Did anyone call the state ethic's board and ask them? I find it odd that most of the councilman has nothing to say. More to this story than just what Girdler has to say about it. I know Mr. Dick was in charge of gas department when Mr Lowery left. He was given a big raise to be in charge of gas and water dept. He was also involved in a lot of the decisions made concerning the gas department. More to this story than what was in that article. Need to do some more digging and asking questions. Very disappointed in these councilman, they should of known this and would have if they were doing their jobs that we taxpayers pay them to do. This all stinks no matter how much bs is thrown out there!!!

Sounds like Girdler is the only one who will talk. Seems to me if this was a huge injustice, someone would have the balls to call him on it.

I've done some digging. I heard some guy named Roberts has it in for Dick and Gwinn and is trying to stir up trouble. Anyone hearing anything similar?

Roberts retired a few months ago and may be stirring up problems, but this is an ethics issue, a manager of two depts would have an inside track on whats going on, I as a taxpayer have a problem with an employee of the city owning a business and selling their product to the city

It sounds like folks may need to show up at the council meeting and ask about it further.

I say the guy knows how things are suppose to run after being there 30 years and see's things that are completely wrong and maybe not legal going on. They should listen to him. Does anyone buy that crap Girdler said in the paper today?

Hey paper lady, why don't you go ask the mayor if Dick was ever in charge of the gas department or was ever in any meetings on the gas departments behalf, i am sure he will lie to you, so maybe you need to do a little more digging. You will find out he was in charge of gas department for a year(also got a big raise) or so and was in meetings over the natural gas many times. You can't just take Girdler's answer, all you have to do is ask others and you will know. better yet don't ask anyone just pull up some of the council tapes from 2007 and 2008. Takes time but you will find out without any help. Okay i went and looked for you on your own website, Dick was in charge of gas department from 2007 to Sept 2009.

Here you go, from the Cj in October 2008

Charlie Dick, currently serving as gas manager for the City of Somerset, says the price for natural gas will be $9.74 per decatherm.

Now do you believe Mr. Girdler , that there is no conflict of interest or ethic's problem? Go to your archives and you can fnd out a lot by typing in a few names.
