The Highway Department in Somerset has gone back to political hirings. The same thing that the Gov accused Fletcher of is standard way at Somerset now. Word is that there is a Office of Inspector General report that has been completed concerning how District 8 has attempted to hire based on political favors.

The report is based on a investigation completed by the OIG for Transportation and has now been forwared to the Executive Branch Ethics Comission and state personel board.Formal Investigation reports are public record.

The local paper should request a a copy and publish the findings of this report.A copy of the report can be obtained from the Transportation Cabinet Office of Inspector Gemeral.

They could actually beat the HL on this one if they get on the ball.

It will show insight into how to get a job at the Highway Department here in Somerset. Issues that will bring light into how some local politicans control the hiring at the State level.

Great place to work if you are hooked to the right team.

They paper should also ask for the names of all employees who have been hired or gotten a raise or promotion in the last year in District Eight. Even the Temps.

Could be the next big hiring scandal in State Goverment right here in little old Somerset.

I would like to see the report printed in the local paper so all can see. They really poured it on Fletcher for this type of stuff. Grand Jury and all. I thought the Dems were better at this game. I think they might have gotten over confident this time.

I think behind a garbage truck would be bad. Rain sleet or snow they are out there working to get rid of our excessive waste.

I to would like to read this REPORT or whatever it is.

They did stick it to Fletcher for the same thing that happens here. The difference is that the Dems don't go after the dems for wrong doing. The Dems only go after those evil Reps.

Hands down, it's R-TEC. They have wonderful people working for them, but management doesn't have sense enough to know or appreciate them. I worked for them for nearly two years before I was able to get out. Sometimes it would take 12-15 hours just to get 8. Nope, I wouldn't go back if you paid me double what I was making. The drivers they have should be applauded.

I would complain about my job. Most people look down on it but I am actually proud. Because this time last year I was begging for a job after school.

Of course there are many things I hate about it. Not allowed to have overtime and if for some reason you do, you dog get paid for it. Things like that.

But, I get a paycheck every 2 weeks and it so far is keeping my head above water until I do better for myself.

Do they make you clock out even when you are out of town and working if you are waiting on a client and not driving?

I had a state job and it was pretty good, the pay sucked. But what made it a nightmare was the office manager!!! I think that man will someday give the devile a run for his money..simply horrible.

The job I retired from, although I loved what I did for a living and I absolutely adored my patients, was THE worse I ever had. It was because of the company itself and the unrealistic expectations that they imposed on us..

We were expected to run the facility on a skeleton crew and get things done the way their graphs and grids said it could be done. Graphs and grids don't take into account that we dealt with ill human beings every hour of every day. Overtime was horribly frowned upon, so many times my coworker and I would work through lunch and off the clock, just to get caught up.. There were times we'd go in an hour or so early on some morinings, again off the clock, just to catch up on paperwork.

"Production" goals, if not met, were reason to reprimand us and would affect our measly pay raises too. For instance, if the cost of living went up 5 percent and we'd get a 2 percent raise... It was terrible, and OH the stress every day!!

Sad to say, it's a very well known international company within the medical field... Thankfully, I'm still in contact with a few of my dear patients from back then. The ones who are still living anyway. Guess it's true about those silver linings.....
