My daughter saw him in the 80's for seizure disorder. I found him to be informative, personable, and very compasionate. When my daughter had emergency brain surgery at UK Hospital he visited her to ensure she was o.k. This was a billed visit. I think that he truly cares about his patients. I would recommend him.

Sorry the above should have stated THIS WAS NOT A BILLED VISIT. I hope you find him to be the same type of physician we did.

My daughter also has seizures, and has recently been released from UK. She has been also referred to Dr. Patel. What types of seizure did your daughter have, and why was brain surgery performed. Thank You.

My daughter had grand mal seizures. These seizures were a result of skull fractures she recieved in an automobile accident. One of skull fractures did not close properly and allowed sinus fluid to leak into her frontal lobe resulting in a brain abscess. Dr. John Walsh of UK performed the surgery. My daughter is now seizure free and doing fine. But as I stated previously Dr. Patel is a fine caring doctor.

I am glad you all have rave reviews about him. I am sorry but I dont. He diagnosed me with Multiple Sclerosis based upon a negative spinal tap. After a week in the hospital in ICU, and him wanting to begin interfuron (sp) injections on me 3 times a week to the tune of $1,500 a shot, I requested a 2nd opinion. He got very upset. My personal care physician got me an appointment with a MS specialist at UK only to discover that I DIDN'T have MS, I had had 2 strokes!!! He couldnt believe Dr Patel's diagnosis, and wanted to know what Medical School the quack that diagnosed me had went to.
He might be ok as a psychiatrist.....but for anything else....GO TO U.K!!!!

I did not care for DR Patel, sitting in the waiting room and watching every one coming out of his office, it seemed he just sent everyone home with Zoloft..I went to him several times and it seemed all he wanted to do was to put you on a happy pill instead of finding the problem..I would not go back to him.

He told me I had MS and it was not. I was later diagnosed with fibromyalgia.

I've heard nothing but good things about this doctor. IN my opinion, doctor's can not possibly make every patient happy. There will always be a few that didn't like a certain way things were handled. It is when the action is continued in many patients that a doctor should be considered a quack...no doctor should disrespect another by calling names like that...just my thoughts on that.

I used to see Dr. Patel for frequent migraines. He did help me with the headaches, however I felt like he was trying to over medicate me. I too was put on a high dosage of Zoloft, along with several other medications I felt I didn't need.

I first met Dr. Patel when I was admitted to the hospital. I had a severe case of Bells Palsey which the ER doctor at first glance thought I had a stroke. Dr. Patel was called in and ordered several rushed tests, said he was glad they called him because the faster they can get you on the right meds for this the more cahnce you have to regain the movements in your face. He was very kind and concerned, and explained everything to relieve my fears. I continued follow ups in his office after leaving the hospital and the people in his office are kind also.
