Disappointing loss....they're was talk of this being one of Anderson and SW best team. Boone Co. is an average team by Northern Ky. standards..... granted a game does not a season make, but a bit disappointing none the less.

Southwestern held their own for the first half with the score being 0-0 at the midpoint. A couple of big plays by Boone seemed to kill the spirit of some of the Warriors. Some of the big names on SW team were silent most of the night while some of the younger players made some great plays. I was disappointed in the defensive line. They never really put consistent pressure on the QB. The Offensive line gave no time at all for Logan Starns to throw the ball. Get the line straightened out and I think you will start seeing some wins.
Hopefully we see some more of how they played the last few minutes of the game. Good passing mixed in with running the ball. T

The only reason the Warriors looked good in the last few minutes of the game is Boone County emptied their bench while Southwestern left their starters in. Southwestern laid down and quit after they went down 14-0. Listless performance by the Warriors.

Convince your opponents' head coaches to play only their reserves the entire game, and that offense will really start to produce.

As a former PC Maroon and a current Jumper fan, I can honestly say that I hope Coach A stays at SWHS for another 30 years.

Go Warriors.

anyone who has played at southwestern knows coach a. makes the hardest schedules in the state of kentucky year after year. Sure we lost more than we won of them but come district time we were ready and won the district title 3 of my 4 years. boone county is a tough football team and there enrollment dwarfs southwesterns. either way Southwestern nor Pulaski will ever win a state title in football. pc has won the region but when you run into teams like highlands our boys have no shot. the only way is if they reclassify and put them both in 3a and then it will still be impossible. it sucks but thats the way it is. somerset on the other hand can very well win it and i hope they do at some point but the county schools have not shot in 5a or 4a

I believe Highlands was reclassified and is now a 4A school. Sorry, I know Coach A schedules some good teams and all but with all due respect, there is no way on earth SW plays the toughest schedule in the state. I wish them well, but see the same old same old at SW.

In the two seasons prior to this one, Boone County has compiled a 7-14 record.

According to the KHSAA, Boone County has 1,500 students, while Southwestern has 1,126. For the sake of comparison/perspective, Pulaski has 1,183 enrolled, and Somerset has 460.

I find it laughable that SW fans consider a 6A school's 374 student enrollment difference "dwarfing" but almost every county football fan constantly complains that SHS (enrollment 460) doesn't play both PC (1,183) and SW (1,126) every season.

Over 1,100 students versus a school of only 460? Now, THAT'S "dwarfing."

If one is waiting for SW to get their line in order that should be even more reason for alarm because that has traditionally been where Coach A excels (in the trenches). Not only is Somerset a AA school but they are actually closer to Class A in size than AAA. The new classification and schedule has forced the Bunnies to step up their game.....and it appears they are answering the bell.

maybe the new basketball coach at swhs can be the recruiting cordinator of the football team as well. that might get you a few wins, that is if he survives the investigation coming his way.

Recently, I've heard several local fans mention a guy in this area who is supposed to be one of the best line coaches around, but the name they give me isn't Anderson.

One of the best teams in a long time. Really?? 0-2. Maybe they will win in district games since it's so weak.

The call for SW to go for 2pt conversion when kicking the extra point would have made it an 8 point game was not a good one. They did not make the conversion and left it at a 9 point deficit. I think that kinda killed some momentum SW had built up at this point. Not to mention left it a 2 possession game. Bad play calling (again). Hopefully a coaching change is in the not too far off future for SW (wishful thinking)

I know Highlands was put in 4a. You missed my point obviously that when your in the second largest class in the state your not going to win a title. You can not get past the Lexington Schools and Louisville schools to win a title. I know cause my senior year at swhs we moved up to 4A which was the largest class at the time. We had the smallest enrollment out of all the other 4A schools. You know whats funny, PC had 75 more people that are enrolled and yet they moved up us to the last spot in 4A instead of you PC.

In 1998 our non district schedule was Danville, Rockastle, boyle county. Our district had #2 and 9th ranked teams in the state. We beat Bell county and broke there 12 straight year reign as district champs. We were the first school to win it. They didnt lose a district game for twelve straight years but anyways tell me that aint a hard schedule. 1999 our schedule was the same non district as 1998 and in a new district, 2000 was the the same as 1999,

My senior year when we moved to 4A we played Male on UKs indoor feild. Then Danville, Lexington Catholic,#1 ranked team in 2A somerset and PC team with Cole Draughn. If there not the toughest then they are still rite at the top of toughest schedules.

If you were talkin bout there schedule this year then I dont know how tough.

First, It doesnt matter what there record has been the last two years. Boone didnt have one player that plays both ways. Thats dwarfing. Somerset has the same amount of football players as swhs. Quit making excuses for not playing them both. All 3 teams have the same amount of players so throw that bullshit out. You somerset fans have ruined the rivalry of Somerset vs SWHS and especially PC cause they have played each other more. Once every other year is BS and you know it. Its cause they dont want to lose to a county team. Former coach Cobb said if he ever lost to a county school he would quit. He tried to not play either one of them. We didnt play them for 3 years. Somerset made it to the finals the year before last and were absolutely destroyed. That shows how hard it is when you meet teams like that. Somerset could win one sometime but SWHS and PC cant.

Maybe you need to ask yourself why the county schools can't get more players out than Somerset where they could compete in their class. I've never understood why guys like Johnny Hines start all that stuff about wanting to play Somerset every year. They should be embarrassed to be wanting to play small schools so bad. Even more embarrassed when they get outcoached and outplayed by them. Johnny has started to have some success but how long will SWHS continue to let Dale murder that program?

I hope for a long time on the coach. So if I understand this corretly they're wanting Somerset to beat two county schools every year instead of just one. Why can't they be tough enough to win their class? You're running your own school down when you talk about them like this. What is the goal at the county schools if they don't think they can ever win the state? 5A is weak as water this year and so far PC and SWHS are fitting in real well. Do they coach them to just win some games and not have the big prize as their main goal? I thought that was what everybody played for.

I thought my prior comment might evoke yet another ridiculous "SHS is a-skeered" rant.

Pssst ... hey, county schools ... here's a suggestion. If you want to beat the Bunnies so badly, then you've gotta beat 'em when you play 'em.

Better luck next year, Skippy.
