Correll has something to do with it. He bought the property. I'd say that is a pretty important role to play! Does New think he was the reason Lake Cumberland grew so quick? I'd say it was the hundred plus investors and their families that got that place going. Good luck trying to get your revenge, Richard.

So is it true then that Mr. Correll and Richard New bought the property on 914 and are starting this new funeral home together? That's the rumor.
Half of this is true, Mr. Correll is not in the funeral home business. Figure it out for yourself. Who is the other half? rtflmbo

There is one funeral scheduled for today (with visitation earlier today) plus two visitations this evening with two funerals for tomorrow. LCFH has never been a seven night a week visitation, for some nights have been without clients.

Revenge has nothing to do with anything -Their success is due to ALL their employees , Richard New included -This country was built on the free enterprise system , by ambitious people -Competition lowers prices -I predict they'll all do well - Be out there tonight and expect the same professional and courteous treatment -Richard and Billy were a winning team , and both will do well , even if not together -

this is gospel. richard new and chris lange are partnering together (with uncle ward as a major stockholder) to start a new funeral home. this is direct from one of uncle ward's closest friends. yes, ward did buy the land for the funeral home at an auction on 914. they are waiting to see if there is going to be any legal action taken by lake cumberland. wouldn't it be neat if they named the new funeral home cumberland lake funeral home?

The initial contact was made with C. L. about Thanksgiving 2010. Marryin' Sam made the visit. If Kentucky passes a bill like New York just did, his bidness will quadruple, won't it?

I know one that they had better settle with, she has a taped conversation of her and a male employee. She was no dummy,,,,,just protecting her interest. TRUST ME mr. New will not be the HOT TOPIC there. People are not always as they appear are they:)
Thanks

I was at lake Cumberland funeral home tonight and I can say this. The funeral home isn't the same.. There is no one at the door there to greet you, the old man sat in the office on the phone basically the whole time.. They didn't even open the door or even close it for anyone half the time. I've been to the funeral home for the past year. I've had 4 deaths in my family.. They all passed away before Richard was gone. All the workers were very kind and respectful. Richard was there greeting you when you left and greeting you when you got there. He made sure everyone was taking care of. He even would bring my family water to drink, and chairs after standing for so long...... It's not like that anymore! Now that he is gone. That place will never be the same.. I hope and Pray that it's true that him and ward correll are opening up a new funeral home! Richard has always been so good to my family, and it just wasn't the same tonight when we were there!

You are right about that. The feebly elderly and obviously crippled people were given help. I noticed a woman whose husband was attached to an oxygen bottle went to the door last evening to get some help. She then drove directly in front of the awning and one of the men came out and assisted her husband inside while she parked the car and returned. Actually, it seemed more relaxed--a more country like atmosphere, last night. There was one man and one woman at the main entry doors, and one or two more keeping an eye on the needs of others. I saw no deficit in decency and service providing last evening.

The service purchases is about taking care of the remains of the deceased, not about the funeral director. But, if elvis has left the building, he's gone somewhere else to a new venue.

Of course, I was only there a few minutes and wasn't trying to do an evaluation of the services, just to show my respect to the family I knew several members of. So my observations aren't to be taken as a measure of the entire 4 hours. That much time is a hard shift to work without much of a break.
