The former Somerset Refinery plant on Monticello Street in Somerset was sold to an undisclosed buyer at absolute auction Thursday some 18 months after it closed its doors.

the somerset fefinery is a promoters dream and a environmental mishap waiting to happen.

Wonder why it's a secret ?- All I've observed there is lost jobs , scrap metal , and weeds -Could it be that a local supplier is gonna start brewing a private brand ??-

I know who purchased the refinery. Go by there at 1:30 Tueday. They are having a huge meeting on their next step.

Ward Correll and Oscars family made sure this refinery could not operate. There is a lot of local oil, the powers that be make sure they will never turn a profit.

that refinery is so out dated, it will have to be torn down and rebuilt to meet any standards of safety.

Besides OSHA problems it would probably have trouble with EPA requirements on restart.

The previous millionaire owner got or applied for waivers on the permits - Then had to sit and watch Barretts haul crude right up 27 and deliver it to Ashland refinery - WTH ?-
