I have eaten there several times in hopes it will get better but it never changes, I hate it! Just my taste maybe but I hate the way they always give you cold food!!

We like the food. We do carry out for our office and it is NEVER correct. So, we have cut down on ordering from there because of that.

Could we get a MODERATOR to explain WHY threads are missing here...so very curious. I read them and really didn't see any 'great controversy' in them at all. Is this random censorship to be expected on 'pet' areas of yours or are you finding things in the words that most do not...would like to know for future reference.

My guess would be the mods eat at Cracker Barrell and found the negative comments offensive.

Cracker Barrel is disgusting! It has nothing to do with the store in Somerset. Every Cracker Barrel has sub par food that is just nasty. If I want good home cooking, I think I'll just stay at home and make it myself! My food is better anyway!

Cracker barrel was a good company till they forgot about the employees and the food quality, they have went down hill since 2003 . Food is horrible and management stinks.

I know several people who work there "full time" and depend on this job. Jobs are hard to find right now so you cant blame them BUT...

They get around 3-5 hours a day making 2.25 an hour and around 50 in tips. After gas to get back the next day they have nothing.

They have so many employees but give everyone just a handful of hours. I guess that would be a good reason the waiters aren't that willing to be very helpful even though it is there job.

I hate when the hostesses interrupt your meal/conversation to light your oil lamp!!! They do this during a time before the sun sets-usually before 5PM. These lamps emit such little light that after they light them, the difference is negligible. The busboy should light them as they bus each table at a set time of day. Love the oil lamps in the evening-they add a bit of ambience to the meal and the dining experience.
I also hate it when the hostesses choose to raise the blinds before the sun gets really bright. Therefore, when the sun is at its brightest, the blinds are raised and thus cannot protect your eyes. Their blinds are great!!! They are the type that protect your eyes from the bright light, but yet are transparent enough that you can still see things outside.

Welcome to corporate America where they tell you what time to raise the blinds and what time to light the lanterns. As far as hours and number of servers on the floor you guessed it all controlled by home office. Its all just a job and everyone's a number. Complain to the CEO

They treat their employees like cattle! the longer your there the worse off you are!! managers change as often as the songs they play and the POOR employees ,,,, when they get a raise then they get their hours cut!! I would NEVER EVER reccomend anyone letting their child work at a place that has NO RESPECT for their employees! case in point My son's friend worked there and when his Livein girlfriend passed away they didnt even pay him for the time he had to take off to bury her!! Pittful and appaling!!

I worked there once for about 2 weeks. Never worked anywhere that I felt that degraded and humiliated....both by the management and the long timer wait staff. Lost my appetite for the job and the food.

No, servers give up after a while because why should we run ourselves ragged for demanding idiots who think that $3 tip for a table of 5 people is fair (because it is 10% or 20% because they all ate kids meals even though they were all over 50) times are hard and I drive 37.5 miles each way to get to Cracker Barrel to work...and each time I wait on our lovley (CHEAP) somerset locals that treat me like I am scum because I am a lowly server I die a little inside...this being said, I'm one of the absolute best servers they have there...and if I can't stand how half of the guests act (knowing that I have a handful of devoted customers that come in, ask for my section, and tip me right)imagine how the new servers, single people that don't really need the money, or lazy servers feel about most of these people. As a customer, give respect or give money...I don't care if you treat me like a doormat as long as you pay me really well cause I have kids to feed.

I know what you are going through. I observe alot in restaurants and wonder why customers think they can be so rude to waitresses. I have never been a server and do not think that I could. I would have to be pouring hot coffee over some of these peoples' heads. Bless you that you can control yourself. Seriously, does the public think that servers have signs on their foreheads that says "abuse me". It is sad that people have strayed from the Golden Rule.

When i worked there those ladies from the bank come in there every friday and get their fish kids meal and leave a buck between four or five of them and think the waitress should kiss their high fluting butts, i think its funny how all of them look the same, short crop hair and dark tans, they think they are pretty but they are gross looking.
