There are so many funny quotes from that movie. I watch it at least once a year to remember them. "Homer Stokes is a friend of the little man."
I liked that vertically challenged broom -Gearge Clooney really wasn't acting - That was natural - And lets not fergit Vernon P. Waldrip - Quote , "and you stay outa Woolworths" -

So, in this case the Boone County Fiscal Court does approve board members. The BCPL serves 121,000 and employees 90 people. I will work on finding more about the transition to the current setup later today.
It's the same here! The fiscal court votes to approve the board! PERIOD!

Library Board members are selected, approved and voted on. Pulaski County residents are nominated, those names are then sent to the state to be qualified, and finally our local fiscal court votes to approve the board members.

This is all ridiculous and a waste of everyone's time. Get over it and drop this petition nonsense people.

When you signed it, did they tell you it was "to help the library"?

Nope , it was presented as a protest against the tax increase - After thunkin' it out as it would affect me and mine , I found that it ammounted to 2 cups of coffee - In some instances , the good of the masses should be paramount , however , in this case , whatever the eventual outcome , I'm having my name removed -

I am curious to know how many signatures they have. I guess we will find out at the Thursday meeting. I think the anti-library people are meeting tonight at RECC at 7, right when families are trick or treating with children, which is convenient. That was the last I heard but they may have wised up and cancelled it.

Our library is second to none. I have lived in several communities/states over the years, and I have never seen a more proactive library than you have here. From infants to seniors, there are things for everyone! The only thing anyone in this community should do to the library is patronize it and support it completely. Forget about Barbara Sanders.

That's what I am saying. The children's department is phenomenal. In some categories, our library is in the top 3 in the state. That says a lot about it since there are larger library systems out there. I am shocked that this clown would even use the library as a tool for political gain. What a joke!

I don't care if the library closes. I have seen such waste of money in the old library and in the new one.
At the old library, many times you couldn't get anyone to assist you because they were too busy standing around gossiping. They acted like you were bothering them when you went to the desk to check books out. I was there often and never saw what I would call a crowd there!
Many people feel there wasn't a need for the new library. There was contstant complains about lack of parking, yet they let some of their friends in businesses across the street part there as long as they wanted to.
I think it is a waste of our tax money.
its not just the main library it will be the branches too, and even if they close taxpayers will still be paying the tax for years and not have ANY library, yeah, thats real smart. You need to think again.....
