Have you seen their actual charts? I doubt it because you can only see them in RR and unless you have a reason to be in them, they are off limits.
I'm not saying they don't have MI, I'm just saying their primary (first) diagnosis is MR.
You are so wrong and you know it. I am sure you are a person who never works the floor or deals with the individuals in any way! ou would probably run if one came after you!

It is in deed happening, they have already given 50+ people their notice. It willtae affect August 27. They had to give everyone a 30 day notice

Who do you think pays for all the food at bluegrass oakwood? All the events and gourmet meals as well. I workeded on the hill. I seen all tht money wasted and it wasnt on the clients. Now layoffs? Not because ofthe budget, they have money. Look it up how much the goverment gave them this last past year.

They didn't have to give people a 30 day notice. It was nice that hey did. I wish they had just laid them off the same day. Some are really upset about it which worries me. I would be to though if it had been me!!
Nice

It was nice that they gave people a 30 day notice. They didn't have to, but a lot of the clients don't adapt well to major changes, so it was really good that they did.

I used to work there back in the late 90s and left after a resident hit me in the back of the head with athletic shoe as I was exiting a cottage. I admire anyone that can stand up to the some of those young males with MI.

Has anyone stopped to think what would happen to the economy here in Somerset if Oakwood lays off too many people??? What do you think would happen to Somerset if they moved all the jobs to Mexico as mentioned. Do you work in Somerset? Do you have a back up plan, I hope so because if one of the biggest employers in this town moved away there is a good chance your employer would no longer need you! People need to stop and think. Instead of dogging Oakwood and the employees there people need to start appreciating the money that Oakwood puts in the economy of this entire area and pray they don't go anywhere!!!
Whatever

Did you ever stop to think that if we didn't have to spend millions of dollars on Oakwood we wouldn't have to pay as much in taxes. When it costs 300grand a year to take care of someone, there is a problem with the way its being handled. How much of the money actually goes to taking care of the clients there, versus how much gets spent on parties, bonuses, trips and other non-essential activities they have going on. Oakwood serves a very important purpose, but it is terribly managed and very wasteful. Instead of changing the sign out front every few months and paying for it with my tax dollars, run the place professionaly and people will stop complaining.
By all means

Why don't you come in and run the place. You sound so intelligent. Whose tax dollars do you think are gonna pay the unemployment for all the people laid off, oh smart one?

Yes Oakwood needs to be ran much differently than Bluegrass runs it, I certainly give you no argument there!!!! Trust me when I tell you I have first hand knowledge of this fact. That said, Oakwood is funded both by state and federal monies so yes some of that money comes out of YOUR pocket but it is just a drop to the money that Oakwood puts in your pocket IF you are employed here!!! Oakwood itself is a great place, the bottom feeders that run it and those who work there just for the paycheck are the ones that are the problem but since the overwhelming majority of people that express their opinions on here have no clue what actually goes on at Oakwood just what gets sensationalized and follow every word like lemmings off a cliff, there will always be people crying over milk that has never been spilled. As I originally said we all need to pray that Oakwood does not close, leave or in any other way take the jobs and their money away from this area!!

I agree with you completely. Oakwood is a HUGE employer in this town, and it will really hurt the economy here if it closes down. Unfortunately, the silly people complaining on here about having to pay taxes to keep it open are probably paying taxes out of the check they draw from the government.

When did check drawers ever pay taxes? Here's the thing that puzzles me. Oakwood is a huge employer in this area so that means that there are alot of poeple who have worked, are working or will work there. That means that most people around here know someone with first hand knowledge of the things that go on there. Yet, when someone says things about Oakwood, people who work there say you don't know whats going on and you are just trying to cause trouble. Explain this to me Oakwood check drawers.

I do work at Oakwood and I agree that a lot of people do have first hand knowledge of what goes on, but there are also a lot of people who use to work there, when things were really bad, and they still think things are the same. They aren't. Things have changed tremendously at Oakwood over the past few years. People need to stop bashing the place and be thankful for what we do there. There are 150+ residents that depend on us everyday, to make sure that there needs are being met. Most of them can safely be transitioned into the community, but not all. What's going to happen to them if the place closes?

i see a lot of wate there that should be cleaned up, a 1000 enployees for 150 people is ridicoules, a lot of tax payers money that could be used iele were. what pisses me off the most is these retired employess coming back and taking jobs that some people need, i just don't think you should be able to come back and double dip. (PERIOD) You people who are getting laid off should call you representives and have this doulbe dipping STOP it's just not fair to you. but i still think 1000 people to 150 is way to much. i bet i could cut that a third and stillrun efficient.
