I had a friend who tried that and they said it didn't work! Everyone I know uses "creep's" suggestion... tie'em and pull!

It only take a few minutes at the doctor to get rid of them. they shoot'em a little to numb'em. then snip them off and cauterize them. In a few years you'll probably have more, but that's the best way to get rid of them.

Would someone explain what a skin tag is?

Get some ambisol, some brand new sterilized SHARP surgical scissors and snip away. You may have some light bleeding, just apply pressure. This is what they do at the dermatologist offices, minus the ambisol. ;-)

I have them all over my neck and they look awful. My problem is, I think the going to the doctor to get them removed would be the best/safest way to rid myself of them. However, I have no insurance and I'm not sure I have the stomach or the balls to do the fishing line or the snipping. Any other ideas??? Help a gal out!

I know this doesn't answer your question, but you should be aware that people who have skin tags are more likely to have colon or rectal cancer.

This isn't a joke either. I'm totally serious.

So, if you have any other symptoms or markers, maybe you should get checked.

it doesnt cost alot of money to have them removed. my wife works for a surgeon. they put you under twilight sedation if you have alot but if not they just yank those suckers off. if you have insurance, shouldnt cost but abot 70 bucks

Skin tags are a benign fleshy growth commonly found on the neck, under the arms, and on the eyelid. None of these definitions below say it, but I've always heard they are a viral wart.
