So far, the official/officialish announcements are:

Dunkin Donuts
Orange Leaf
Jimmy John's
Liquor World (if they get the license)
Texas Roadhouse (if Liquor World gets the license)

Others are saying:

Hooters
Applebee's
Cheddar's

But that all depends on who you talk are talking with.

I think we can rule out Hooters and if I hear Olive Garbage mentioned one more time, I'll puke.

I sure hope the Hooters people take note of this. There is no other place in the world that wants one so badly apparently.

There was an article in the C-J about Hooters last week. Seems like too much of a coincidence to me.
Put it right next to Liquor World and we could be just like Richmond.

More DUIs, alcohol related death, domestic violence, increased business for EMS and lots more new things. You can feel good that you were a part of making it happen. We are keeping the stats.

Any of the above is a major upgrade from the fast food 4-lane and the over abundance of average no names like Tracks End, old town deli, the butter burger joint, the cajon place, etc. Hopefully then we can lose Krystal, Schlotskys and a couple others. We have one Italian place and thats Fazolis....Please! One chicken place- one of anything gets old. Let the upgrade begin!

Then clearly this is your first attempt at keeping stats in a city/county that went from dry to wet because if you had experience then you would know that those things just don't happen. They are already here. So keep your stats and know that it isn't going to get any worse or better due to selling alcohol here.

Just like Richmond? Duh, yah...major interstate highway, a university and a four-year college within the same county. Population and per capita income levels much above ours. Just like Richmond dude!

Richmond is not that much better than Somerset, and if you talk to the business owners in Richmond, you may have a different opinion. Most people there think that Somerset's growth will severely hurt business there since fewer and fewer people will make the drive to dine and shop there. The next time you go to Richmond, drive by our TJ Maxx here and see which one has more customers. Our store is doing far more in sales than Richmond. Richmond existed, up until now, only because of lack of alternatives South of Richmond. There was little shopping and no alcohol. Now, things have changed drastically with Somerset acquiring many of the chains which Richmond has with more on the horizon. Richmond's problem is that you cannot pay people in Lexington to drive there and now, nobody here wants to go there either. By itself, it does not have the population to support what it has, even with EKU.

I read the list of applicants in the newspaper yesterday.....there was no mention of Hooters, Red Lobster, Applebys, Cheddars, etc. only same old places we have now that want to serve alcohol. No new places at all except for Liquor World.....there is only limited licenses available so don't see anything new coming or they would have filed for a license....The hooters pic was a joke by the way; why would another hooters advertise to their patrons to go somewhere else-looks like there are alot of folks around here (and in our country)that will believe anything they are told.......go Progress....

The restaurant license are NOT limited. Only bar/club license are limited. No one said this was going to happen over night.
