Mrs. Mounce is my niece. She is a wonderful person! Any kid would be very lucky to have her as a principal! She loves the kids!

Sounds like everyone has nothing but good things to say. My intentions of this thread were to make sure my children would be loved and respected and get a good education. I hope that Burnside will be that school.
If you read some of the silly things on Topix < I don't think I would be forming my opinion by anything that was said on here. I'd go elsewhere.

Both of my children have attended Burnside. It's a great school. There will some negatives no matter where they go, but I have never had any major problems. Mrs. Mounce may not be perfect, she is human, but she is firm. There should be more principals like her as far as I am concerned. She sees a problem, she deals with it. I think you and your children will be very happy with Burnside.

While there are some people on topix that I would rather not have their oppinion, there are still some people who have enough sense about them to just answer a simple question.

Both of my sons attended BES and I truly wish that the school system would let Burnside go back to the 12th grade. It is a great school, Mrs. Mounce does go beyond and above what she gets PAID for. Each and every student is treated fairly and just there, and I am looking forward to my granddaughter being able to attend BES. All of the workers at BES should give themselves a big pat on the back. Congrats BES I am proud to be a former GENERAL myself....from years past.

I am proud to say my children attend Burnside Elementary. They Love the school and they LOVE Mrs. Mounce. I agree it was great to see Mrs Mounce at our children's Football games. I know it made my boy's excited to see their Principal watching them. She was GREAT at the UK Game! She is a wonderful role model for the children and I would like to say THANKS MRS. MOUNCE!!! Keep up the GREAT WORK!

She could listen to the advice of her bus drivers and transportation a little better. there is no job more stressful than being a bus driver and according to a very well know burnside person she lacks understanding of what they deal with day in and day out!

Well, I'm a driver and I don't understand what she has to deal with day in and day out and don't care too. Overall, ALL principals do support the drivers the best they can, including her. Let's not judge too harshly because I nor you haven't walked in her shoes. I'll stick with my few kids over her several hundred any day.

Mrs. Mounce is a great person, she cares about all of her students and staff, she has alot to deal with everyday. She has done so much for the students and staff at Burnside. I know because I work there and she has alway been nice to me. She will help you in anyway she can. Running a school is a BIG job and she does a great job.
