I see my liberal cyber-stalkers wasted no time "judging" a link to a simple story about how their beloved Obamacare is TAKING money out of people's pockets. LOL!
Which is exactly what it was designed to do.

Merits or detriments of Obamacare aside, the GOP sure look bad by holding the government hostage.

Guy on The Factor made a good comparison last night. What if the party's were reversed, and the Democrats refused to pass a clean funding bill without an assault rifle ban attached? "Pass this assault rifle ban or we're going to shut down the government!"

It is the same situation here. The Republicans lost, they don't have the power to stop Obamacare, how many hundreds of votes for its repeal did they try in vain? Now they're stomping their feet and shutting down the government. It is like a little kid holding his breath out of spite.

You really are clueless aren't you? You have no idea what this bill consist of. To compare it to a gun ban is pure and simple apples and walnuts. obama was the one who says , my way or no way. He will not even discuss it with congress. The emperor has spoken.
This is another way to pass a huge tax bill.

No, you're the one that totally missed the point. Guns, abortion, turtle tunnels, whatever. Like I said, forget what's in the bill. The point is, the bill was passed, it was signed in to law, it passed Supreme Court scrutiny.

Now it is law, and now it has went in to effect. The GOP shutting down the government had absolutely no effect on Obamacare going in to effect today. None.

All they did was shut down the rest of the federal government in a temper tantrum. Congress is responsible for funding the government. Period. Adding a poison pill to a funding bill in order to extort the majority is wrong, plain and simple. Doesn't matter who is doing it.

But now you're emotionally invested in this argument, so no doubt you will respond with more harsh words and veiled insults as you often do.

That is alright, I don't mind. Just like the rest of the nation who isn't blinded by the loud, screeching voices on the right, we see who's at fault for the government shutdown today.

It isn't Obama or Harry Reid.

IRS Watchdog:$67 Million Missing from Obamacare Slush Fund

"The IRS is unable to account for $67 million spent from a slush fund established for Obamacare implementation, according to a TIGTA report released today.

The “Health Insurance Reform Implementation Fund”(HIRIF) was tucked into Obamacare in order to give the IRS money to enforce the tax provisions of the healthcare law. The fund, totaling some $1 billion of taxpayer money, was used to roll out enforcement mechanisms for the approximately 50 tax provisions of Obamacare."

One billion dollar slush fund is a money grab.

"The report also found several other abuses of taxpayer funds, including:

Travel abuse: The report states,“Specifically, we identified 38 IRS employees in two judgmentally selected business units whose travel was charged to the HIRIF in FY 2012, but no portion of their salary and related benefits was charged to the HIRIF.” In short, the IRS was not making sure that employee travel reimbursements had anything to do with the purpose of the fund. This is not the first time that IRS employee travel has created a scandal for the agency.

1,272 IRS Obamacare enforcement agents: The report estimates that total slush fund spending cost taxpayers the equivalent of 1,272 new full time IRS agents. The IRS requested an additional 859 IRS Obamacare enforcement agents for Fiscal Year 2013: According to the report,“The IRS informed us that it requested $360 million and 859 FTEs for FY 2013 to continue implementation of the ACA. However, the IRS did not receive this requested amount for FY 2013.”

To add insult to injury, the IRS has told the Inspector General that it will comply with the recommendations made in the report; unfortunately, the slush fund has been fully spent, making that promise meaningless."

Okay, we get that. Too late, it is law, has been for a while.

Now, what does Obamacare have to do with Social Security, the National Parks, Defense contractors, Border Patrol, Air Traffic Controllers?

Republicans are refusing to fund the government, why?

Temper tantrum. "We can't get our way, so we will take our ball and go home!"

Buckets of Republican tears all over DC today.

Yeah, those mean ole Republicans sure do look bad for trying to save American's jobs, money and a healthcare system that is far better than what we will end up with under Obamacare.
The Dems look like the elitist snobs they are. Going against the majority of Americans who don't want Obamacare implemented. But, by all means libs, keep defending an exemption for congressional staffers who make well above the average income of every other American.

You changed what I said in a quote, that's dishonesty but you and your party are used to that, it's how obama got elected.

"Too late, it is law"?, that's because Pelosi said pass it first and then read what's in it later and you all bought it hook, line, and sinker.

The republicans never refused to fund the govt. They all said they didn't want to shut it down but the liar in chief sat back and refused to negotiate, it was a game of chicken and the American people lost. How many of his politicians has he exempted from the "law"? I guess he would rather negotiate with Iran than the repubs.

I showed the abuse of obamacare so far and the one billion dollars already spent implementing with much of it unaccounted for but you won't address that issue will you?

Cry me a river.

But they're not. Nothing they did, or rather didn't do, had any effect on the funding or implementation of Obamacare.

They're simply shutting down other parts of the government out of spite. Republicans don't have the power in Washington to affect Obamacare in any way. We had this debate 4 years ago, Republicans lost and Obamacare was signed in to law.

They ran against Obamacare last year with Romney. Lost again.

I edited your quote as there was no reason to repeat a huge wall of text.

And again, I started out in this thread neither crediting or discrediting the law that is Obamacare. I simply stated that Republicans, by shutting down the federal government in a temper tantrum, had absolutely no affect while delaying or stopping the law they and you so hate.

You say Democrats and Obama are shutting down the government? Ha! No one is buying that. You all absolutely refuse to consider the metaphor of if the parties were reversed and Democrats demanded something they cannot get passed in to law as ransom for funding the government.

"Pass an assault weapons ban, or we will shut down the government!"
"Let 12 year olds get third trimester abortions, or we will shut down the government!"
"Put off Obamacare for another year, or we will shut down the government!"

The Republicans are using blackmail as a tactic to get a law repealed that they don't have the power to repeal through traditional means. You will support them because you don't like the law either, but if the shoe was on the other foot you'd be frothing at the mouth calling Democrats traitors for trying to circumvent normal legal means by refusing to do their job of funding the government.

"Fraud firm gets OK to sign people up for ObamaCare

By Leonard Greene | New York Post

Rampant fraud on a New York City contract last year didn’t stop a major nonprofit from landing a slew of federal contracts to sign people up for ObamaCare.

Seedco, a New York-based community-development organization, was sued by the federal government for faking at least 1,400 of 6,500 job placements under a $22.2 million federally funded contract with the city.

Eighteen months later, the feds and Seedco are teaming up again, this time to help medical-insurance seekers maneuver through the maze that is the Affordable Health Care Act.

When ObamaCare’s open-enrollment period starts Tuesday, among the frontline agencies will be Seedco, which is partnering with dozens of agencies, such as the Gay Men’s Health Crisis, Food Bank for New York City and the Chinese American Planning Council, in each of the five boroughs."

"ObamaCare is theft. Whether it is openly voted on or conducted under the cover of darkness means nothing. It is theft accomplished by forcing others to comply with a surrender of their earnings that they would not voluntarily agree to.

For the first seventy five years of this government's history the political reality of the United States was that slavery's supporters were freely elected both locally and nationally. Slavery was the law of the land and the economic excuses were of the importance to the nation of cotton and food being planted, tended and harvested by slave labor. But the moral reality was that voters and politicians were immorally enforcing the imprisonment, torture and the theft of earnings, freedom and life from millions of fellow Americans.

ObamaCare's approval by voters and politicians is a sorry guage of its moral correctness. America's political class is exceptional in nothing but its self-service and hypocracy."
