I'll help keep an eyeball peeled for you.(No pun intended, lol) I'd suggest renting a home as opposed to apartment living however because the monthly fees would probably be comparable. Plus your privacy (with peace and quiet) would be more pleasurable. That's IF you don't mind the yard upkeep that comes with a "house" rental...(You wouldn't have lawn maintenance responsibilities with apartment living). So let us know your preference. We'll be happy look around for you and post here. Rent is very reasonable in this area and you could find a quiet place more out in the country if that's what you want.

A house works better for me but I'm just trying to get my foot in the door down there. Like i said I should be there at the end of this month to look and then plan to move down September. I will have my 15yo son so the lawn will not be a problem. I plan to buy at least some land within a year and then build. Or maybe buy a old farmhouse on 20+ acres. I just want to get a feel for the area to see if it works for me and that I work for you guys

Have you considered a lease with option to purchase? Key Realty is a good company to work with. That's who we used.. They might be able to find exactly what you're looking for.

My daughter lives in Fry Estates. They require a one year minimum lease with first month and deposit due up front. They also require you to keep renters insurance to live there. Rent payments are mailed out of state. they do background and credit checks too.
You might also look up Rick Halloran, he does townhouse rentals and they are generally nice and well kept with nice neighbors.
Also several apartments and townhouses for rent on East Somerset Church Road, past the YMCA. Just drive down the road and you will see signs. Also some townhouses on pumphouse road at the end of E. somerset church road. right next to somersport park.

I lived at Fry Estates thankful my lease is up... it was not worth the pay.... music is blaring all hours of the night, the landlord is a negative lady who lets herself into the apartments whenever she wants, she doesnt knock just walks right in, I was changing clothes one time she did that... it is made really cheap and is 500 a month rent if you get cable and Internet plus the electric Bill it will be about 700 a month for a crappy place,,, the old landlord was amazing and got things down... DONT rent there

I lived there for a almost 2 years... I started out paying 419 then the next year they increased it to 454. I worked 3rd shift and would wake up with the landlady or her maintence staff in my apartment checking stupid stuff. It was absolutely ridiculous. They were constantly harassing about something and the police were there every weekend. They look great and everything at first but they're very cheaply made. I went through 4 vacuums where the carpet would clog it up.

I know about Fry Estates and if your rent was 454 then you were paying for a pet. The old landlady was great at not increasing rent more than ten dollars a year and never went to anyone's apartment unless there was a complaint or it was time for inspections. So that tells me you must have not kept your place clean or you were the reason for the loud noise or police being there. I lived there too and I know the old landlady was great for helping all of us. She was nice and kind and was available. The new manager was rude and just would walk into anyone's apartment whenever she felt like it and cares nothing for the people living there. I moved because of the new manager but if the old landlady came back I would move back to Fry.

Thank you so much. That makes me feel better about it. I have a 1year old an expecting in july so we have to find a bigger place asap. I try to stay away from topix because its so negative here. But, alot of people has told me the new manager makes you pay $40 to fill out an application? Is that true? & I heard they were cheaply made as well. Can you hear the people above you or next door to you threw the walls?
