As the anniversary of my dear sister's death approaches, I've been thinking of her and remembering the wonderful relationship we had. She was older....I was the little sister who tagged along behind her, who idolized her and tried to emulate her.

Thinking about our relationship, I was reminded of Perfessor's recent loss and this lovely poem he wrote about his younger brother. I don't believe I've ever heard of an older sibling who looked up to his younger brother, or who tried to be just like him, and I'm very touched by the very special relationship Perfessor must have had with his little brother. Indeed, Tommy must have been a very unique child, a very special little brother, for Perfessor to want to do everything he did. What a special bond Perfessor had with his younger brother, much like the bond I had with my older sister.

That is so beautiful, and I appreciate the Perfessor for sharing that with us. It is such a unique, loving role-reversal.

I hope I have not made the Perfessor sad by looking back again, or anyone else. I apologize if I have. I'm sure writing that beautiful poem and expressing his feelings helped Perfessor deal with his sorrow. Maybe as the day draws closer, I too will be able to compose a poem for my sister that will help me.

Thank you very much for easing some of my pain and helping me to heal. I'm not surprised to hear that you had such a bond with your sister. It is, indeed, special to have such a bond with a sibling, younger or older. Of the 6 of us, Tommy was indeed the 'rock', with a tremendous inner strength and love of family. I would sincerely like to be like him; he was a much stronger person than I could ever hope to be. He always seemed to do the right thing and make good choices, and in turn, helping me recover from bad choices I seemed prone to make. One of his most proud moments was when I checked myself into an alcohol rehab for treatment nearly 22 yrs. ago. I pray that I won't fail him by remaing sober for the rest of my days. Lady Dickens, I know in my heart that your sister was extremely proud of you, and would be to this day were she still with us. Thank you, and may God bless.

Yesterday was the birthday of my baby brother.He has been gone for 18 years and our lived changed when he left.Died from a motoercycle accident.He was so fun to be around.It was like he kept the family together.Now I am alone.I remember from the time he was small until his passing(24).All the good times I had with him.Frog gigging and all.His laughter I can still hear.I love and miss my brother...Seem like he was my only family I really had.

Monday was the anniversary(16years) of my dad's passing.I remember all the bad things he would say/done to me.I did not want him around me but he wanted to be around me the last 3 weeks before he passed.I guess in a way he was trying to make things right in his own way.I just didn't want him around me...Told me for many years he wasn't my dad(from age 12 to age32) but I look too much like him...Never was close to him.

Sorry for going on like this.

I'm sorry for all your losses...May God be with you and make you stronger.
