Actually yes, because the girl that started the name back when I was in school had a crush on me and we hooked up when I got back down here last fall. ;) I used to have these mini speakers in my bag and basically walked around like I had a boom box with me on the bus, lol... it was good times... and obviously your a punk. I'm glad to see this fun thread bumped back up.
I have a cousin and a friend both nicknamed Gizmo. One always liked the Gremlins, one can't stand bright lights. In my family, we have Tank, Jet, Oogie, Gubgub, Chicken Hawk, Ol Thel, Butter(not a nickname either), Cherrie Blossom, my uncle was Wicker Bill(rest in peace), Stinkerbutt, Dollface, and several crazy Cooters.
Good thread...keep it going!

My youngest son was nicknamed Bubba before he could even talk by our neighbor's. We lived in base housing and the neighbors were a black family. I never did really understand the name Bubba for him, all he could do was grunt at the time.

Homer Joe, and his cousin Tinker. They will still answer to those names. I don't think Homer Joe likes his, but Tinker, well most people don't even know his given name (Dennis).

Had a friend that would answer to roach. We were in the military, so I didn't understand that one until we were all playing volley ball one day and it came up. He had been overseas in his younger days in the Navy, was very drunk and his buddies got him a tattoo on his bum of a roach with foot prints coming out of his.... He dropped em and mooned us, not that I wanted to see that, but couldn't stop myself from looking. lol.

That was my first assumption when I heard his nickname, but he had been in the Navy for about 13 years at that time. Couldn't have been that.
