on tap. For those in the know it's a rye based IPA flavored with hemp seeds.

that's hemp, not MJ, so don't expect to get high. It's just a tastey brew somewhat similar in character to Sierra Nevada's Torpedo Ale

I don't think drinking fermented MJ seeds would get one high either.

THC is fat soluble, not water. So in order to extract THC from any MJ product one has to cook it in a fat-based solution like butter or oil. Boiling in water won't work.

That's also why you can't flush it out with water and takes up to 30 days to get out of your system.

It could be done,

If MJ were legal one could use the seeds and get THC into the beer in the same way that they do with coffee stouts, which is also the oils that provide the flavor. The key would be to crack the seeds using a grinder and use them in the boiling phase of the wort and have a higher protein beer so that the protein can hold onto the oil and you don't end up with an oil slick on top. Of course a beer with both THC and Alcohol would definitely require a designated driver.

According to www.chemfinder.com which uses the Merck Index, THC has a solubility of .28g/100mL. A NORML study done found that 3.3% of the total THC from the MJ supplied was dissolved in the water after smoking a bowl.

And yes, before you point it out, THC is far more fat soluble than water soluble, but it IS water soluble and a little leeching does go on in bongs.

protein acts as an emulsifier. It has a hydrophobic end and a hydrophilic end. That's why oil and vinegar separate so easily unless you whisk an egg into it. That will bind the two. As you point out THC is not insoluble in water, only poorly soluble so it wouldn't take much protein to keep it in suspension. Malt a half pound of rye or winter wheat along with your barley and that should do the trick. Some old hill recipes call for boiling a chicken leg in the wort. Unprocessed honey would do the same thing in place of sugar

If you understand the science you won't use a bathtub to brew in...unless it's outside and you're just using it to boil the wort. I would never attempt fermentation in a bathtub.
