I'd say it won't be long till a newspaper will become a thing of the past. The news will be posted on a website on the internet and you will have to pay a subscription price to read it.

Why did they send the printing to London? Jesus. There are more people here in this area than London and they are the ones printing?

I expected better things, like decent reporting, updates on current cases, maybe someone at the paper challenging our local government some. Been none of this, just enough info to get by on,most of the news we read about is in Lexington herald or hear it on the news and that's it , why is the paper so scared of local politicians? They just need to turn this into a magazine and forget the news, not been any reporting there in a long time. Maybe their needs to be more reporters and less editors. The website and facebook updates are horrible, you can tell no one is in charge of that, i have to say sports is doing a good job, but regular news it gets posted 2 or 3 days later.

CJ is not worth purchasing.

It's written at a second grade level and is little more than a Somerset edition mouthpiece for the Republican Party. It is not in the least either objective or informative. The absolute worst part is/was (don't know if they still have a column for it) the retarded inbred mutant hill-speak. Just glancing at that idiocy used to almost give me a seizure.

My Pet Peeve and I see and hear it on all media is the word "Pleaded".
Which sounds better
Mr Chuck Jones (not a real Person) Peald not guilty at his arrainment Friday. or

Mr Chuck Jones Pleaded Not Guilty at his arrainment on Friday.

Where did that pleaded crap come from. You either Plea or Plead. Using Pleaded makes a person sound like a poorly educated Mouth Breather.

Pleaded is correct Associated Press style. The Commonwealth Journal is a top-notch community paper. And if you don't like it, stop complaining about it and simply don't get it.

I think the paper is great. Good local reporting. Not a lot of local newspapers have their front page filled with local news every day.

You people are so uneducated. Talking about stuff you don't even know about. There is no new editor. He's a publisher. They can't hire a proofreader. They can't afford to keep the staff they've got. The Facebook updates are consistent and informative. Like somebody else said, YES it's "pleaded." Have any of you ever worked in newspapers or the media? Do any of you have degrees in journalism or English or business administration? Then shut up and worry about doing your own job (if you even have one) and quit criticizing something you don't even know about.

Can you spell Investigative Journalism, Who, What, Where, When and throw in How. Did you ever hand set type, with 10 pt century expanded, operate an old Klugey or Linotype with lead blocks, proof read all tickets and high school annuals printed 1958-1960 at the Old Somerset Vocational School, taught by Edward Ping, and then follow up at University of Arkansas. I have, and that education also shows up on my DD-214's as well as Somerset Community College. So climb back down from your high horse before you get a nose bleed and have a dam stroke, Besides, This is TOPIX and No degrees are needed to post.
