The overall best athlete to ever take a field or diamond from this community was the great Elwood Chicken Criswell.

Blair was a punter in college, got in a bad car wreck ended his career, he might have gone pro. DT Boon never got on the field there, he got with some girl and got engaged but thats all I know, Sibal meet a nice young man and found out who he really is... if you know what I mean. Compton is workin at his dads tile buisness
According to the Ohio Media Guide Boon lettered 3 of 4 years. Pretty hard to do for never seeing the field. He is in Lexington... Blair also lettered 3 out of 4 years and is in Richmond.I would get my facts str before saying stuff like that bud.... As for me... Im at Ohio trying to get my PHD in teaching!

I would have to say Josh Anderson simply because he has done what no other person from Somerset has done... Plus he is a good person to boot.

Too bad the Newell boy's turned out to be crack heads. They'd be the best that came from this part of the state, no doubt.

I wonder if David Cowan would have been in the runnen for one of the best athlets, when I was younger, say 14 or 15 he would shoot basketball with us,just playen around, honestly,he would rarely miss a shot and did it without looking like he was trying at all.At the time Ide say he was around 48 year old and he did play junior college ball,he was the dad of Kelley Cowan. That fellow was a worken sonofabuck I'll tell ya.It was the talk that he was a golden gloves boxer also but you no how kids will talk.
