He DID NOT make first team all-state...You have too much faith in the P.C. Football program. Look at something that is actually telling the truth.

Josh Anderson in my opinion is the best athlete to come from Pulaski Co. Made it to the Show and his head didn't get big. Great role model. Hope he gets a chance to start opening day and see him a full season in the bigs. Maybe if the Braves won't play him, Cincinnati can pick him up. Love to see him playing center and leading off everyday in the lineup.

Max Messamore, Josh Anderson, the entire offensive line/Kelly Stigall/Alan Sexton....the guys that really made James Fletcher look so good by opening up holes big enough to drive Mack trucks through! Mike Nelson....best linebacker to EVER come out of this town! Something like 220+ tackles in that undefeated '84 season...chose the Marine Corp instead of college, b/c he liked the Marines. Eric Jones was a beast as well. Of course Reggie Hanson was tough....Matt Sexton was a good one from SWHS that went on to the University of Louisville. Tony Massey was a damn good multi sport player. But I played little league for Messamore....still had a cannon of an arm and pin point accuracy going in to his 40's...middle age spread and all. Grundy, Burton....quite a few, not even going that far back.

Yeah...Jon Hines was tough...I didn't go back that far, Jeff "Slick" Perkins was a good runner too until that bad knee injury at UK. Slick was a coach of mine...a good one at that.

Don't think so - looks like they are trading for Jermaine Dye and they already have Bruce and some other young studs coming up!

Oops!!! You're right...I think he finished his teaching or master's at UK if memory serves me....of course it's a little foggy from the late 90's!;-) Messamore was at MSU a few years later I remember....backing up Phil Simms....was John Cain the UK grad? Memory is failing me horribly here.

Yeah, John Cain played for Charlie Bradshaw at UK ... so did one of his assistants when I played at SHS, a hard-ass line coach named Roscoe Perkins. He had a couple sons younger than me that played for the Jumpers, too.

"Slick" Perkins played at Morehead until he blew out his knee, and another SHS assistant when I played, Doug Moore, was his teammate at Morehead. Good coach, but only stayed a year or two.

Don't know why I remember all this ... funny what sticks, huh?

Hines was athletically gifted,, but it didn't translate well on the field for whatever reason. Not sure where you might have gotten the idea he was one of "the best", but ...

check the old press-clippings. He was average/above average, at best.

Very good football coach, though, from what I hear.

Sure he was! Where did you pull a depth chart from Morehead at or is that something that Max told you. Best Athhlete Josh Anderson and Darren Burton. They both played professionally and they both came from PC.
