Rumor has it everyone who doesn't transfer to the group homes will lose thier job. Also they will only pay a base pay ( No Increase over time ) you will get a bonus but even it will max out after a few years. So unless they change this it's really not a good deal long term. Esp with the way inflation is going. Hold on this is going to happen and happen fast or so I hear for what it's worth.

Rumors, Rumors.......Don't you people get enough of those? Come on, you all seriously think that the people that don't get transferred out to the group homes will lose their jobs? Duh, I believe that the state would come in and take over people they would let a place like Oakwood shutdown.......Now think people......

Ask the staff that were threatned. Yep, it is happening. I feel for these people. Confussed about their jobs, their hours changed and life changing. What to do with their kids since hours changing. No respect by the employor to explain what is going on. Hit like a Mac druck. My heart goes out to you guys.

I know some people wanted to go to the group homes. So, they didn't have an application/interview process, or anything? They were just chosen at random, or...?

I was told that they are moving out 150 residents to these homes sometime soon. And for "An Insider" many of the rumors started have a base of truth in them when it comes to Oakwood.

IMHO ,Oakwood will close, just a matter of when not if,this place is old and is in a hot spot of Somerset.I don't think it will be this week but I can c it happening within the next five years, and I do have good sources on this matter that is way higher up than anybody at Oakwood knows.Names cannot be disclosed but why its going to go is a given, its served its purpose and is in a very high dollar part of the county,as far as land value.

I was told that they are leaving 150 clients at the facility and moving out the rest. Will they have to do transitions, or since the staff that they are moving with the clients are familiar with the clients, can they just move without having to do the transition visits? Apparently this is all going to take place very soon, since they are sending the staff to training beginning Monday morning.

Yep it is true matter of fact they took tow of our staff for them. I think it is a beginning to the end of Oakwood. I just wish they would do what ever they are going to do, instead of letting everyone's lives hang in the balance of not knowing what to do next. I would say start job hunting.....I know i am. Don't sound good. The biggest bunch of nonsense I haqve heard in the over ten years I have worked there.

I heard:
They are getting the facility down to appx. 150 residents. They have been planning on this for years. They are taking Oakwood staff and staffing those group homes- to secure Oakwood staff a job. They didn't have to do that you know. They could have hired people off the streets to fill those positions. Due to the decrease of residents numbers at the facility it only stands to reason that they will have to cut personnel. Well the personnel they are cutting are now going to have jobs. People aren't looking at the situation positively. We will have our jobs for years to come if we all keep out heads and continue to strive to get back our license. Keep your cool. We have security at this time. Look at the bright side and ease your mind. It will be ok- you'll see.

That sounds great and all but I don't trust them. They didn't have any respect to tell workers about this. They could have tried to get volunteers but instead forced some people to change thier hours. There are several people who wanted to go to the group home instead of being at the facility. And those that want to stay are made to go. They could at least respected their employees enough to let them know their plans let people think about it and see how it would work by allowing staff to get involved and know what is going on. What about case managers, home managers, supervisors, nursing, and all the other personnel. What will happen. NO NO NO RESPECT to discuss with employees!!!! So "I know stuff" yes it is great that they are moving staff but don't ya think they could have done it alittle different? Offered alittle more respect to the employees. They hold meetings and do stuff all the time. What was is it going to hurt to discuss changes and discuss who would be interested.

Yes. I do agree. They should have taken volunteers first. Totally agree. But I am trying to be thankful that I have a job. They could have done it a little differently. yup yup yup

The reason why that they had moved staff into the group homes from Oakwood instead of hiring people off the street to go with the residents is cause if the residents don't know somebody that has worked with them, then they'll have more behavioral issues. Plus the staff that they picked work excellent with the residents. So maybe the reason why some people didn't get choosen is just maybe they didn't think they were working all that hard at their job. Plus oakwood is only licensed to hold 150 residents in their facility. If we start transitioning people into the community, then it will look better on us when we get surveyed. So Wake Up People.

First off insider, we are not licensed at all. We won't be until after we pass the survey. So the 150 client thing is bull. Our goal is to get the number of clients down to where each individual that lives at oakwood can have their own bedroom. The rumors circulating are crazy. There is nothing behind these group homes other than that we had to open them to increase our chances with CMS and DOJ. So actually what people should be doing is thanking those that are working so hard behind the scenes for trying to keep us all in a job. Rumors breed panic. They should have told us prior to opening them and offically nothing has been said yet. Just lots of speculation.

They have been trying to get one client for each room for at least three years. I do hope things work out for the clients and workers at Oakwood.
