I hope this new design will be the key to lesser complications from hip replacements. According to media reports, metal-type hip implants are associated with complications which include inflammation, pain, and metallosis among others. I came across this site and they have recent news and updates about hip replacement problems, you may want to visit it.

Very ugly results.

Any design that could benefit a patient is always welcome. Hope this student gets all the support he needs and may this design be useful to a lot of people. If this student comes up with a successful hip implant, this would be a slap on the face of DePuy who was only able to come up with a defective product with all their billions of dollars. This has even resulted to thousands of lawsuits for the complications suffered by recipients who were implanted with the metal ASR hip implants. There are also factors that may have an impact of the longevity of these implants. Hopefully this great idea will come to be a reality. And hopefully business will not jeopardize this. If reports are true, the case of DePuy's metal implant failure has much to do with business decisons of the company. And this has resulted to massive failures causing injuries to thousand of people. For more on this alleged interference of businesspeople, you may read up on reports of the Kransky trial available in

Well, let us just hope that the new design from DePuy is indeed not at risk of being defective unlike with the number of lawsuits filed against DePuy, to know more about this, check some DePuy Recall News Center sites.
