Word up. Glad I'm not the only one who felt that way. I'd be doing a jig if I got picked for that! GEEZ!

I saw this too on 3/16/08 and again today I saw it at HGTV's website and both times I thought Stephanie Dees' reaction was UNDERWHELMING. I started to think maybe it was because Lauren Lake showed up at her house and I got almost a racist feeling coming out of Stephanie as Lauren presented her with the DREAM HOME. Could Stephanie have been any more underwhelmed?
I so don't think she deserved to win merely by her underwhelming reaction to Lauren Lake - it looked to me that Stephanie was ANNOYED and wanted them out of her house.

Oh well, hope we get a happier camper for the GREEN HOME freebie!!

What did she do with the dream home? Is she keeping it or selling?

Maybe she was not comfortable to letting blacks in her front door; perhaps Lauren should have entered the servants door. What a complete idiot. Can they take it back from her?

just curious: most HGTV dream house winners have to unload the house, I'd be surprised if sourp*ss Steph decides to keep it.

I think everyone is being overly cruel. Being on camera is not for everyone and she is an everyday person not an actor hired to perform for viewers. She was crying so I would say she was overwhelmed not under. How would you like strangers to post opinions about you on the web given a five minute surprise attack? Think about that before you say anything more cruel.

This lady just walked into this persons home!!! She hardly even knocked on the door. I would have been thinking someone was trying to break in, not give me a house.

I think her reaction was soooo fake. I didn't like if it would be me i will be running, screaming and giving my husband and kids kisses.

Try walking in another person's shoes and be more forgiving and not judgemental and mean spirited.
Her personality may not be the jump around and scream like a ninny type. If someone barged into my house screaming like a maniac with questions two inches from my face, I might not know how to act either, with all the cameras and hoopla made by the HGTV personality. Everyone giving their opinion needs to calm down themselves and cut this woman some slack. You all sound very mean, critical, and not like anyone I would want to know or be friends with. So easy for you to cut down people from the safety of your small, mean, inconsiderate, world of self-righteousness.

I've been on tv before during a surprise when I won a car from a charity and I reacted much the same way as Stephanie Dee.I was extremly grateful and I cried with gratitude like a baby once everyone was gone but I was so freaked by having a camera with a bright light in my face and a fancy looking reporter all made up with tons of make up on shoving a mic in my face I just couldnt move or say hardley 2 words. It was bad tv and some people didnt like my reaction. Not everyone is made for the spotlight. What was even harder was being recognized after that as I am a very shy person.I chopped all my hair off short so I wouldnt be recognized hahaha.I am still grateful to this day so don't judge the winner of the dh you don't know what kind of person she is.It doesnt mean she wasnt happy or grateful.Maybe shes like me and a private camera shy or camera phobic person.
