On one more note...That tax service has done the majority of the Soddy-Daisy Community taxes for years...NO ONE was worried about any one being "qualified" before..you went down there, got your taxes done, and never questioned it, why bring that up now?? The Topic at hand is supposed to be about the fact the Jack Brown has "possibley/probablably/mo re than likely" stolen millions from innocent people....stick to that
this is what i read soddydaisygirl. being qualifed, bring it up now because this business was just another one of jack brown's imagined tallents. anyone can do a simple 1040 and that is basically all they did, anything more complicated was a hit and miss there. goes back to trust. misguided people trusting this nut to do what he said, back up his boasts about how much he knew. could put in a thimble what he knows.

dontbelieveit..I think your not reading my post correctly...what i am saying is there are so many people stating that they had thier taxes done there by people they knew where never really qualified..I mean, everyone in Soddy knew that these people were all related to Jack that worked there, but they still went and got thier taxes done, if this had not happened, they still would be...but yet they all claimed to know this fact?? Why bring that up now..I know one post said they were having to pay the irs back, but everyone else seems to have known all along these folks were not qualified

Anyone can prepare a tax return and sign off as the paid preparer. No certification of any kind is needed other than a PTIN which requires no qualifications to obtain. In the next couple years preparers will start having to take a test to see if they are qualified to prepare taxes (if they are not CPAs), but up recently you didn't even need the PTIN. Anyone could sign off as the paid preparer, no qualifications needed.

I am saddened and heartbroken that the good people of our Soddy-Daisy Community have fallen victim to a man we once thought was so wonderful. I think before this happened (with the exception of a few) truly and honestly believed that jack had a heart of gold. I still dont believe he started out wth the intention of stealing anyones money, but somewhere along the lines it went terribly wrong. I have watched him do so many good things for the community and its just hard to believe that it was with someone elses money. I have been in the tax service countless times and sat and laughed and talked and (gossiped lol) with Jack himself, and all the other employees there. Everytime I was in there, I always saw someone I knew and chatted. It breaks my heart that this has happened. And it breaks my heart that so many people that I know, and that I am friends with have been devestated by this. I know by my next statement that i will probably catch HE#L for making it but here goes...Ive known Jason for a long time, you wont ever convince me that he knew people were being robbed of there money. Im sorry, you just wont, I believe with my whole heart that he had no idea that these poeple were being taken for thier life savings. This truley is a "Fall from Grace"

just a though, with what intentions did jack do the "good things" having known him and watched from a far distance with a less of a "hero worship" attitude most had of him i think it was because he wanted to put the "look at me" perspective out there. just a thought.

dontbelieveit...I think thats what is so heartbreaking...when you have known someone so long, and you watch them do wonderful things for people..you never sit back and say "oh he's a fake"..but then when it all comes crumbling down, you loose your faith. I have known him for years, and I honestly believed he was a man of his word, a good person that helped alot of people out in thier time of need..now, I have lost faith that there are any good people left in the world :(

yes, the Money Express is also being looked at. Any "business" Jack Brown ran is being looked at and sought through with a fine comb.

heartbroken please don't lose your faith we all have been fooled by people at one time or another. the only one we can know will never disappoint us is our LORD JESUS CHRIST..if we put out faith in him he will never ever disappoint us. as human
beings we are bound to fail at one time or another. trusting blindly as these people have done based on jack's outward actions can only be a reminder that man is man and although we don't want to believe that our carnal nature will come out we need to realize that until we see JESUS, we will contine to be human and our old selves will appear at some time. you sound like a geniune person who only thinks the best of people and please don't lose that because of jack's actions.

I wanted to repost this. I had posted it on Sunday. I found this link on what to do to try and recover your money: http://www.ehow.com/info_8382471_five-ways-re...
It says to refer to your records, statements, and checks. Hopefully everyone still has them. It states sue the right people. We all know the Browns have no money. So sue the banks and feeder funds (if any) that were used. It is up to the banks to monitor accounts and if suspicious activity accurs then they are to report it. So the local bank that the Brown's used could be on the hook for your money. Mitigate your losses federal tax rules allow for you to recover 50% of stolen money. If there is a Bankruptcy involved (which I am sure will be) make sure to file your claims with the BK Trustee. Lastly, this one could pit neighbor against neighbor. It is called a Clawback Provision. Which means you can claw your way up the pyramid to recover your money from previous investors. I hope this helps. It will be a long uphill battle and may require hiring attorneys. Berney's investors are still trying to get their money back. I think they are about to see some money.

Also, the IRS will allow you to write off your losses on your taxes. The IRS will probably audit every tax return that Brown's Tax did. The double slap in the face. If mistakes are found it will fall on the tax payer. Once you sign your name to your tax return you just released the tax peparer of any wrong doing and they cannot be held liable,

Someone on here doesn't want those questions asked because I asked the same ones a few days ago and my post too was judged "spam" and what the hell ever the other choice was. Haha. Must have hit someone's nerve. I wish whomever marked yours would explain why, most likely a buddy of Brown's.
I was wondering the same thing, why my post got marked as spam! very interesting! Please, whomever marked it spam, please explain!
