What, no tazer gun available? If the prisoner was considered dangerous there should have been more police officers to insure safety of both prisoner and police. If he was not a tazer gun should have been used instead.

Sometimes the tazers malfunction. Better safe that sorry for our men in blue. I know that when I served on the force, oftentimes we hot first and asked questions later. Besides, dead men tell no tales.

Hmmm

Thought the jail was the sheriff office bailiwick.

What's an individually poorly trained elpd doing?

Threatened by a cuffed and shackled prisoner?

Lots of questions to be answered!

I'm mildly amused but ultimately agnostic about your post.

How can you shot and murder an unarmed prisoner who is handcuffed?

Where was the help? Where was the additonal officer at?

I hope the Texas Ranger do the dilligence and end up finding fault against the sub par coward who committed the murder.

If you were on the force at anytime then you should be able to use your badge/id number as proof. Otherwise you are just a liar.

The Tazers are battery operated and occasionally fail to work due to low battery charge, leaky batteries, or poor maintenance.

Chief Allen is not going to retire and the city will take the ballpark money to pay the suit and then charge us voters for the bill. There are law suits against the department every time an injury or death happens. There are times the city fights them all the way and other times they pay off the claim just to save time and money with the provision that the city and the department are declared not at fault.

Texas rangers will not step in to investigate. Internal Affairs, the D.A. and the FBI will investigate as they always do with an "in custody" death.

So,
The sheriff has jail authority,
WHAT is an el paso pd officer doing with the prisoner in the back of the jail?

Since when does the city cops transport prisoners for medical treatment?

OR was there a wood shed training class in progress?

Fish in the air!

And the delay is releasing facts adds to it.......

The fact of the matter is that the officers bring in the prisoner and the Jail Nurse sits them down and asks them a bunch of medical questions pertaining to their medical history, any reported pain or injury and looks at any and all scratches the may have that are visible. The nurse then determines if the prisoner can be further processed or has to be taken to UMC for treatment. The office then takes the same route out of the jail through the elevator as he did when he entered and gets his fire arm and his tazer. He presses a button at the exit and waits to be allowed out. At this time the officer is still on camera but there is no immediate assistance. The delay in releasing facts is up to the DA's office and Internal Affairs. If you want to ask about the investigation all you will be told is that it is ongoing and all names and actions will be withheld until the facts are known and the DA determines they can be released. The shooting revue team, internal affairs, crimes against persons and the FBI will make their recommendations within the next twp weeks unless there are problems. The officer has his rights to the Union Representative during the entire process. IF anything is going to go against the officer he is given the same rights as any criminal asssssss hooolle
