Guns would be allowed on public transportation and at restaurants as long as the gun owner isn't drinking alcohol under a proposal that cleared the Senate on Wednesday.

The bill passed 37-17 in the last minutes of the next-to-last-day of the legislative session after a furious round of legislative maneuvering by Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle and other Republican leaders.

It revives a stalled plan to expand the public places where Georgians with concealed weapon permits may bring their firearms. Read more

The socialist Nazis outlawed guns for the population then set about rounding up millions of "enemies of socialism" and mass executing them in the gas chambers.
