Georgia Bill Would Keep Sex Offenders Off School Boards
Registered sex offenders would not be allowed to run for or serve on a school board in Georgia under legislation that passed in the state Senate.

This proposed law has nothing to do with protecting the public, but rather with grandstanding to get votes. School board members typically do not mingle with students, but rather with their parents. Even if they did, there is absolutly no record of any sex offender being elected to a school board in the state of Georgia, therefore this law is not needed.
