I honestly think that while this is a very worthy cause, this is not a good method to collect funds. The firemen often impede traffic, and I think it is dangerous to have them standing in the road in busy intersections. It sets a bad example, and eventually someone will get hurt.

I agree Liz. I give to them, but they are on my street and I must pass them 5-6 times a day for a week it seems like. I feel like they think I am being selfish when I don't give every time. I find it offensive, especially when it is illegal for anyone else to stand in the middle of the road and ask for money.

yeah i agree by all means i want money raised for these kids, but there might be a better way. i mean what is the reasoning that a homeless person cant to this to survive but firefighters can. again i am not against it just think there is a better way.

Fill the Boot raised over $27 million for families living with muscular dystrophy in 2007 alone. Fire fighters have collected over $300 million since the start of this program. If you can think of a "better way" to raise funds for these families, I'd love to hear your ideas.

I have no problem with MDA and no problem with firefighters. But tell me how the firefighters' choosen cause gives them a special pass on following laws? I can't gather a bunch of friends and impede traffic for an equally worthy cause. I'd be arrested. Firefighters shouldn't be given any special advantage to collect money for their favorite charity.

My father is a fire fighter, I am very close to ppl with md. With these fire fighters helping raise money, we get so much more accomplished. I have even helped with this, while standing in the street. I find it a lot of fun, and I don't see why so many people are bitter about it. You get a sticker, that tells them you've given. They shouldn't make you feel bad. I have also had great conversations with people while they were stuck at stop lights. So maybe ppl should get over themselves and put up with someone trying to do good for someone for 3 days. hmm doesnt sound too hard does it?

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Aquarius

Be careful now, because you could easily give someone the wrong impression and not even know that you're doing it. This is most likely to happen if you're trying to pussy-foot around them or avoid offending them, because that's when things could get lost in translation. You also have a tendency to sit on the fence now, which could make you seem slightly untrustworthy or shifty if you aren't careful.
