I've lived here my whole life & it's just unreal how many people in this area are hooked on drugs/prescriptions. I run into people that I grew up with all the time & the drugs have turned them into a completely different person. It's like they're already dead.Just makes me sad.

No worse here than any other place in this country. When people don't have jobs or any thing else to look forward to, they just lay around and drink, Smoke dope, take pills, get high and F#CK. The only reason you see it here instead of over there is you don't go over there and look.

Maybe so but that still doesn't make it any less depressing.

It's so sad that drugs are killing off so many of our people,and/or destroying their families and lives. It is no joking matter. If our crazy system we live in don't stop the pain clinics and the abuse of pres. drugs from Drs. there will never be an end to all these sad and uncalled for deaths.Lets all pray that someone will do something soon.

It's not the the doctors or the system. It's the people that go to the doctors and lie about having pains that they don't have, to get the drugs that they sell on the street. Those are the ones that need to be in jail.

You pillheads have no idea of pain. Try being tortured day after day as a POW. Then you might know pain. Bunch of crybabies. Not to mention it's bankrupting the state budget to supply you. Grow a set. I don't use painkillers why should you? I know some people do actually need help with pain, but there 90% who don't. I'm not bitter, just fed up with a system that allows such widespread abuse and overmedication of "prescription" pills. Too many young lives have been snuffed out way too soon.

If they choose to do drugs and know the consequences and want to die, that is their right. At least I won't have to spend my tax money on them anymore!! LoL

that it is both the system and the doctors that is the problem. The system is too lax on all, regulations, doctors, dealers and users. Just check out any weekly newspaper and you will see that there are ads for pain clinics, doctors, etc. to lure these users in. The same paper has a list of penalties that users and dealers receive for their activity involving drugs, some of the penalties for these convictions are almost laughable if it weren't so serious. The system allows strong young human beings (these people are allergic to good hard work with pay)to receive financial help through Tenncare and/or Social services, these individuals prey upon that same system to frequent our hospitals and doctors to receive prescritions for pain medicine of which they sell to others and use some for themselves. The system has very few checks and balances for these transactions. The system also allows drug dealers like the ones in town and the Hwy 33 Drug Store to exist. The law enforcement officers seem to ignore lots of these locations or use them to to catch others, there simply is too much drug dealing and of course using going on. Have any of you contacted your local law to report some of what you KNOW is going on? It is time for good people to stand up and be counted.

I won't debate this situation with you .I say it is not the system or the doctors but society that abuses the system

If you never been on drugs then you have no clue how simple its to get on them and yes its doctors fault they write way to much to people and yes we have a suckie system they put who they want in jail when they know who the main ones are but there scared they want get reelected if they put them in jail yes its people fault who are on drugs but I can tell you no one thinks there going to get hooked when they first start most people starts drugs to numb something else drugs will never stop cause there is no way to control it an its sad but not all people who has got on drugs are bad and a lot of people has stopped using but will start back cause people here don't think a person can change
