IT APPEARS TO ME THAT THEY HAVE.30,000 IS A LOT OF JACK. MITCHELL HAD A EXCUSE OF COURSE. I'M AFRAID HE WILL KEEP COMING UP WITH EXCUSES. THE COUNTY WILL BE OUT THE MONEY AND IT'S NOBODY'S FAULT BUT THEIR OWN. U KNOW BACK WHEN MITCHELL WAS GIVEN THIS MONEY THE ECONOMY WAS SHAKY THEN BUT ALSO ANOTHER EXCUSE. BUNCH OF IDIOTS.

If the County Commission wanted to become a bank with our money, the money should have been structured as a LOAN with interest until the jobs materialized. Then when he had proved that he had hired 10 to 15 HANCOCK COUNTY people, the loan could have been forgiven.
As of now, the TAXPAYERS are out the money and there are no jobs. This has happened before with people promising jobs and most of us know how those turned out.
The MOST we can hope for now is that this business survives and eventually does hire some of our people, and depending how that works out, we need to remember who voted for this GIFT come election day.

I think WE got taken for a ride. But time will tell about Mitchell Plastics. In the meantime, ask your respective commissioners, as they had enough to "gift" Tim Mitchell with $30,000, what plan they have to make good on the debt payment coming up on the school. I also understand that the jail has a mortgage against it, too. No one is going to bail any of us out for being financially irresponsible. Guess who gets to bail out the county...

This was because the county and the taxpayers were sold a bill of goods that these new schools would be built at NO COST to the local taxpayers.
That was the ONLY way that they could get approval through the County Commission. The Commissioner of Education said that as long as the BEP stayed FULLY FUNDED, the schools would have enough money coming from the state to make the payments on the school bonds. The BEP has, SO FAR, been fully funded. BUT... the school board would LIKE to transfer this debt to the County taxpayers and use this money for other things. As usual, there is NO CONTRACT outlining the responsibility of the parties. This is the SAME problem that I have with this factory deal. Most of the Commissioners who approved these bonds, are NO LONGER on the commission and without an underlying contract, these bonds ARE the responsibility of the Hancock County taxpayers. SO.... we will probably get STUCK with the bill. This SHOULD BE a lesson to everyone. Elections have consequences and we all should be careful who WE put in charge of OUR money.

There were good people who ran in the last election, but were passed over to elect friends. I have no pity on them.

Screwd the county. He should pay that back. What was our commissioners thinking. Omg if they could change this I say they would. Check into this see if it he has to live up to his word with hiring so many and if not ..then he must pay the county back. Why commissioners why was this done? With taxpayers money .
Find one that can do this

The Hancock County Clerk is a constitutional officer elected to a four-year term. One of the Clerk’s primary functions is to keep the official minutes and records of the activities of the Hancock County Commission and its Standing Committees. The County Clerk also maintains records of marriage licenses and automobile titles issued in the County. The County Clerk also has the responsibility to receive fees, set by state law, for various transactions, such as motor vehicle registration and automobile titles, drivers’ license renewals, notary commissions, marriage licenses, boat registration, hunting and fishing license, and business license. We assist the State Department of Revenue in collecting automobile sales tax and privilege taxes. All revenues in excess of operating expenses are transferred to the County general fund for the maintenance and improvement of public services.

Get over your big head you are not the first persons to run those offices and won't be the last. Everyone is replaceabe no matter what job. So I don't need the job description, people are and can be replaced so don't feel like you'd are the only one that can be elected. You'd had no training or schooling for those offices when you were elected have you'd forgot where you came from? its sn elected job. The people that vote and haven't forgot their votes count !!!!!! Come down from your cloud or get outa the fog
