I don't believe that he has intentionally lied like the Bush administration did with callous disregard. I do believe that politicians make a lot of promises hoping that they will be able to fulfill them, then for numerous reasons and little help from the opposition party find that it becomes impossible. I see Obama as an honest person with an overload of problems dumped on him by eight years of one mistake after the other and total inept decision making.
Here's the problem with your reasoning. Yes, politicians make promises, but we have elected the most far left president ever. Only 5% of the country has this president's ideology. In order for Obama to get his agenda passed he has to lie. It is on purpose and well calculated. His problem is he has to keep his base happy while placating the masses. He tells his base he definitely wants universal healthcare while telling the masses he has never wanted universal healthcare. He tells Acorn he has always been there for them and tells the masses he handled only 1 case for them. He tells the unions their agenda is his agenda and tells the masses we have to hate the rich. He tells the unions they get part ownership of GM/Chrysler (transfer of wealth) while telling the masses he is only doing this to save jobs. He tells the drug companies he will make a deal while telling the masses no more deals for drug companies. He recess appoints all the time and tells us it is because republicans will obstruct, when he knows if these recess appointments were questioned in the sunlight by the senate the people would would object to his selections.

These are just a few. There are many more. This man is a calculated liar. He stated he wants to transform America. He knows the American people do want the kind of transformation he wants and he will use all kinds of dirty tactics to get his transformation.

From the WSJ: How ObamaCare Guts Medicare
The president's pledge that 'If you like your health plan, you will be able to keep it' clearly does not apply to America's seniors.
In his analysis accompanying the Annual Report of the Medicare Board of Trustees, Medicare's chief actuary noted that Medicare payment rates for doctors & hospitals serving seniors will be cut by 30% over the next 3 yrs. Under the policies of the Patient Protection & Affordable Care Act, by 2019 Medicare payment rates will be lower than under Medicaid. Mr. Foster notes that by the end of the 75-yr projection period in the Annual Medicare Trustees Report, Medicare payment rates will be 1/3 of what will be paid by private insurance & only 1/2 of what is paid by Medicaid.
Altogether, ObamaCare cuts $818B from Medicare Part A (hospital insurance) from 2014-2023, the first 10yrs of its full implementation, & $3.2 trillion over the first 20yrs, 2014-2033. Adding in ObamaCare cuts for Medicare Part B (physicians fees & other services) brings the total cut to $1.05 trillion over the first 10yrs & $4.95 trillion over the first 20yrs.
These draconian cuts in Medicare payments to doctors, hospitals & other health-care providers that serve America's seniors were the basis for the CBO official "score"—repeatedly cited by the president—that the health-reform leg would actually reduce the federal deficit. But Obama never disclosed how that deficit reduction would actually be achieved.
There will be additional cuts under ObamaCare to Medicare Advantage, the private option to Medicare that close to 1/4 of all seniors have chosen for their coverage under the program because it gives them a better deal. Mr. Foster estimates that 50% of all seniors with Medicare Advantage will lose their plan because of these cuts. Obama's pledge that "If you like your health plan, you will be able to keep it" clearly does not apply to America's seniors.
Moreover, there will be additional cuts to Medicare adopted by bureaucrats at the Medicare Independent Payment Advisory Board. ObamaCare empowers this board to close Medicare financing gaps by adopting further Medicare cuts that would become effective without any congressional action. Mr. Foster reports that "The Secretary of HHS is required to implement the Board's recommendations unless the statutory process is overridden by new legislation."
Drastic reductions in Medicare reimbursements under ObamaCare will create havoc & chaos in health care for seniors. Many doctors, surgeons & specialists providing critical care to the elderly, such as surgery for hip & knee replacements, sophisticated diagnostics through MRIs & CT scans, & even treatment for cancer & heart disease, will cease serving Medicare patients. If the government is not going to pay, then seniors are not going to get the health services, treatment & care they expect.
Mr. Foster reports that 2/3 of hospitals already lose money on Medicare patients. Under ObamaCare it will get much worse. Hospitals also will shut down or stop serving Medicare patients.
The president's concept of spreading the wealth includes sacking the Medicare system, on which America's seniors have come to rely for medical care, in favor of others the president's progressive vision deems more worthy.
Everyone knows that Medicare suffers dramatic long-term deficits & unfunded liabilities, & is in need of fundamental, structural reforms. But effectively refusing to pay the doctors & hospitals that provide the care promised to seniors is no way to solve that problem.

Obama, or Bachmann? No contest.
A Humphrey Institute/MPR poll out this morning finds that President Barack Obama could struggle in Minnesota on Election Day 2012.

Maybe. But Minnesotans sound pretty sure that he's a much better bet in the White House than, say, congresswoman Michele Bachmann or Gov. Tim Pawlenty.

If Obama were to face either of them in a presidential race today, the poll finds he'd crush them by 20 percentage points and 9 percentage points respectively. He'd also beat Sarah Palin and Mitt Romney.

And with idiots like you their job becomes far more difficult.
I bet you have a good reason for your assertion. Perhaps you can explain some stuff to me.

First, why is it that the teacher's unions have ALWAYS blocked merit pay? Why do they insist that no matter how well or how poorly you do your job, you get the same pay? If everybody else in business pays for performance, why can't a teacher?

Don't you think it protects poor performers? I mean, if I'm going to get the same money whether I do a decent job or not, what is going to compel me to work hard? The goodness of my heart?

Second, why do public school teachers get a retirement option (in most states) at 30 years? In Colorado, I think the number is 75% of last pay at 30 years-- that means the state will pay you 3/4ths of your best pay for life (with benefits) if you stay as a school teacher for 30 years. If I graduate from college at 22, that means I can retire at 52. Nobody in business can afford a system like that. Why do the states?

So you see the guy you were responding to had REASONS for his assertion. Let's hear yours.
