You do not "train" for free. IF you are taking test for pre employment then no you won't get paid for that, but actual onjob training is a federal law that you must be paid. Anything else is illegal, however them not paying wouldn't surprise me at all. SCABS are treating like roaches. And 12, 13 an hour is a slap in the face. No wonder they haven't hired a production employee since 2003, they have a revolving temp door set up to keep wages low and benefits poor. Way to go Nissan.

I would call the career center. I had barely any factory training and I got called 4 hours after I left the center. They are actually pretty good about calling in interviews. Did you have a resume with your application?

The training is pre employment. It is a class you choose to take (even though your employment depends on it) i actually feel it was pretty important because so many people left from just that why go through all of the actual employment process if they are going to get on the line, realize its too hard and leave. Hiring so many people its a lot of work to go though them.

Well most new hires get on the lines an quit even after they are hired. They have had to have three job fairs just to get 1500 people to stay. Only reason the temps are getting raises now is because so many quit. Nissan slave drives workers.

How long does it take for Yates to call after you finish the class? I just finished the class and passed everything. I heard they would prob call after the shut down in Sept.

I'm a vet and I've been waiting 3 weeks so far. I would consider holding onto your phone, answering every call and get a temp job.. I know it sucks but if there were no supervisors at your training class you may be waiting a while

I would have stressed on the resume. No offence but the interviewer said that is all she really looks at. She said this "if they don't have the time to whip together a quick resume then they don't have time for us" if possible I would call the career center and ask if you can give them one. But the guy who takes in your application said it was a one chance thing. Good luck.

Because they have so many people to go through.
To people just about to do the application!!: bring a resume and make sure you are not right after a job fair. Also make sure your training classes are at night.(Supervisors are the ones who want you and only take really who they see)

I got hired in Feb. When I went to the career center, they stressed to have a resume. I went home and printed out a nice professional resume.

The interviewers never once asked to see my resume. I mean, at the first interview, I just laid it on the table and was like, "here's my resume" as I was pretty proud of it....haha.

No one ever looked at mine and I still got the job. Are they still making you take the 4 hour CRC test?

I have an upcoming interview with Yates at the career center. Is Yates a temp agency like Kelly or Ranstad or is it basically an avenue for Nissan to save money? Do you get benefits like regular Nissan employees? Any info about the hiring process or any other additional info would be helpful. Thanks.
yes you get full on benefits and its a way for nissan to save money and still stay competitive in the market but you get paid decent

YOU DO NOT TRAIN FOR FREE!!!!! Then again, I am not familiar with your dialect. Your English is rather rough, "local". I'll back you up on one issues. You're right, all these, "temps" will ever make is half of what a real nissan employee makes. Nissan does not hire anymore. They only "hire" temps that get low wages and little benefits. However I can't blame the people applying with them. I'd rather eat than starve myself. But I am disgusted at Nissan and the way they treat their, temp "employees"
