If you are still there in 90 days. In trim & chassis 8 out of 10 quit. Where I am I am a trainer, have had 6 quit on me. They stopped bringing me people. You will hurt in places you have never hurt before in certain areas of plant. There are no women where I am at either.

if u get a job with Yates, u will be a full time employee with Yates. MA's start out at 15.25 for off shifts and get .40cents raise every 6 months it takes 5 years to top out. i am not sure what material handlers or warehouse start out at...i think maybe 13-14 an hour.

Obiviously training doesn't work well, too many quit. Years ago the people they let slide through training would have never passed it, but once again the standards have been lowered because they cannot get enough people to stay. Read posts before you post, NO PAY WHEN TRAINING, we have been over this on here awhile.

2 years ago when i did it we had to do 24 hours of unpaid training...i did mine teusday and thursdays from 6pm until 10pm...they also offered saturdays at 8 hours each day...then it was 2 weeks of paid training....keep in mind this was 2 years ago for the decherd plant...and let me go ahead and tell you. the training does absolutely nothing to prepare you for the work you will be doing.

Yatesbitch is correct, training does nothing to prepare you for the repetition you will encounter on a daily basis. Hell, a line isn't even moving during training. I have received guys that cannot use air tools, do not have the coordination to put 10 or 12 nuts an bolts in their hand at same time an roll them in hand to load the bolt in gun socket repitively. Won't listen to me to teach them easier way to do a job, I have been doing them for many years, but to them I do not know what I am talking about. Training the way they do it does not work. Hasn't for years, even before Yates was put in you still had people quit in droves, bottom line in certain areas of that plant nothing can prepare you except to get out on the line an see for yourself.

why do so. many ppl. quit..the reason I am asking so many questions is..me and some good as workers are planning to quit our fulltime poisons to come and work at Nissan in Smyrna..but the way it sounds is everybody quits...we currently work for a factory that makes Chrysler parts so production line and fast pace we understand..but why such a turnover there..our pay 10.39 that's all u get...

I cannot speak for the Smyrna plant since I have never worked there, and this is STRICTLY my opinion....but seems like Yates hires alot of kids who have either never worked in a factory and so they hate it, or they hire people who have mostly held office jobs and they cannot do the work. Decherd is a small town and I guess they are literally running out of people. Alot of it has to do with the attitude of the people they work with too. Some people are just nicer to new people than others are.....some dont want to take the time to get to know new people until they figure out whether they are going to stay or not. If you have already worked in a fast paced Automotive facility I think you will be fine, but like I said, I think Smyrna is alot different than Decherd.

Yatesbitch, you are correct on all accounts, it is a combination of everything you said. As far as training someone goes, if you try I will do my best to help you master the job. If you half ass work, and show no improvement over time, why should we both be wasting our time, obviously they cannot, an do not want to do it, so I encourage them to quit. But I agree 100% with your reasoning.
