I went through the process. I took my test on a Monday and past with a silver certification.I was called the same day and scheduled for my final interview with yates on a Wedneday. I took my drug test the same day and was scheduled for my 3 day training which will be done 2 times a week on Mondays and Wednesdays starting Jan 2 and ending Jan 18. There were no more weekend classes available and I was asked did I want to wait I said no I would take the training though the week didnt want to take the chance of having to wait or being placed on a waiting list I feel this is a great opportunity and didnt want to risk anything to miss out.

Once the PET training is over, I was told regular training is 6 months on day shift. Is this true? I was really hoping training was on night shift which is the shift I signed up to work

My husband is at training today, tomorrow and the next day from 7-4pm. They told him today that there is no guarentee of being hired even if you pass the classes, it all depends on if they want you or not at yates. They also told him you if hired on are on 6 months probation period and you cannot miss a day of work, unless possibly a funeral?? They expect you to drive to the drug test, no pay..drive and take classes for 3 days, no pay...wear specific clothing to the classes, etc. I think it is a bunch of bull shi...if you ask me for a job with no potential of ever ever being hired on by NISSAN!!! This is suppose to be america and there are no freakin jobs in tennessee that pay much!! One thing I have never heard of before is this kind of bs with Nissan, or Yates..

It's 1 to 2 months of day training then you go nights. You are on a 6 month probation period that means no vacation an a $500 bonus after 6 months but insurance starts after 90 days. That's what I understand atleast I start the 17th

After 90 days you get your $500 bonus and a Dollars raise. Every six months you will get a 50cent raise. It is said that Nissan will hire again. However the payscale is in teirs based on performance. Teir 1 2 and 3.

Just because you signed up for nights doesnt mean youll go there, it where they want you to go. The first week you will be on days for orientation and paper work. That is when you will be assigned to 1st or 3 rd shift and what zone you will be working in. If they assign you to third shift you will be training on nights. It should take a month to 2 months to when you will be able to run all your jobs, which is 4 to 6.

Has anyone been to the Career Center recently, like last 2 weeks or so? If so, have you heard anything yet?

I was in there last Thursday for the pre-screening and the guy talked like everyone in the room (there was around 20 people) should hear something by Tuesday or Wednesday to be set up for the first interview.

Just wondering if anyone who has recently turned in application if you have heard anything or how long does the process usually take to get the first interview.

Thanks.

Anyone who works with Yates. How are the benefits? Do you get the car lease option like the Nissan employees?

YATES is the step child of Nissan we get to use the activity center that's it. no lease option. But with GM hiring there suppose to give something to prevent us from leaving.

I wouldn't be interested in a lease anyways. I mean if you're makin' what Nissan employees make, it sounds nice. But I think the starting pay for Yates is what,$12.50? Still would be a nice opportunity. I hope I hear from them soon.

For someone who doesn't have much work experience, I'm sure I wouldn't get to start on the line. I heard they had positions for pickers and sorters for the less experience. I figured I could always start there and in time, work my way up?
I also heard a rumor that Yates employees will soon get the Nissan lease option. But was told it is only for Yates employees who work on the line. How come would all Yates employees not get this option if you're a full time employee?
