So if you know any female musicians(18-25) who want to start a band then please let me know. seeking guitarists, drummer, singer/songwriters,etc. Im a vocalist/song-writer but another vocalists is needed as well.

if anyone (female 18-25) is interested in this & responds, then I'll give out my email, etc...

Typically, "female bands" last about eleven days.
Where could we find any research to support your statement?

That response is not an answer to the question.

Name the female band that's still together from whenever.
Name the male groups that are still together from forever.
Now shut the f up.
They don't have to last forever ala The Rolling Bones or some other senior citizens group to get rich. I'm sure the Bangles, the Go-Gos and other noteworthy female bands made lots of cabbage to last them until they get as old as Mick Jagger's wrinkles. And what about female singers who started out in all female bands to go on to successful solo careers? You're about as ignorant a douche bag when it comes to music as you're discussing race, politics, and other topics. Now go drink a nice tall, cold glass of STFU, because you've been served by me once again, Sofa turd.

I know some people are gonna say female bands don't last...those are the simple minded stereotypical people who think every female band is the same (I see a lot of simple minded people on Topix asking dumb ass questions like ''Why are black people this & do white people that... and other stupid closed minded things''....but anyways, i'm just looking to start a band and play with creative people I guess... so it doesn't have to be all female ...but an all female alt band was my first thought.

No, you name some female bands, state how many days each were together, and the link for the supporting research, that you based your "eleven day" comment on. Otherwise be known from now on as "sofa King sorry.

The Go-Gos helped spawn the solo career of Belinda Carlisle and the Runaways were the beginning of Joan Jett's and Lita Ford's careers, so even if the groups don't/didn't stay together long they can be a good way to jumpstart a career for an aspiring solo artist. And longevity doesn't always equal talent or success, take a look at two of rock & roll's all time great male rock groups like Creedence Clearwater Revival and Guns N Roses. Both groups were here today and gone tomorrow, but are still thought highly of decades after they broke up.

Eric carefully aims his verbal stinger missile at the huge Gasbag dirigible, CaliQueen, as it wobbles clumsily overhead. He pulls the trigger and deftly sends a stinging arrow of annihilation deep into itís gas bloated entrails. A deafening roar follows as the CaliQueen bursts into flames and crashes to earth. Tsk tsk tskÖ Onlookers shake their heads in disbelief. Will this buffoon never learn?

Sofaboy is an expert on girl bands? I could believe that he's an expert on Lisa Minelli, Lady Gaga or Katy Perry, but girl bands?

The common thread to the music I really love is that most of it has a substantial woman's throat belting it all out. Cher, Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul, Berlin, Garbage, Heart, The Plasmatics, Pink, No Doubt, Britney Spears, Janis Joplin, Karen Carpenter, Momma Cass, Shiny Toy Guns, Paramore, Donna Summer, The Cardigans, Lords of Acid, Sinead O'Connor, Bananarama and the B-52s. There are plenty I left off. Above all alternative rules!

So what would you call an Atlanta alternative girl band? Hell's Belles? Tallulah? Marthasville? Peaches & Chains? Sherman's Sisters? Tattletails? Crescent Circle? Scarlett? Tangled? Ivy?

Just don't call it Grobbbbbbbbbbbb

Good luck to you. Topix forum is plagued by a troll from California who refuses to allow anyone who doesn't discuss hate to post. I wish we could discuss upbeat and interesting subjects relevant to our lives without the threads being hijacked by him, but his hate won't allow it. I hope you find the band members you are searching for, but alas the California nut won't allow it here, sorry.

The late Seventies and early Eighties were the golden age for female rock stars. You had the late Seventies sirens like Linda Ronstadt, Stevie Nicks, Debbie Harry, Anne and Nancy Wilson of Heart, lead the way into the Eighties for acts like Pat Benatar, Chrissie Hynde, Patti Smythe of Scandal, and Joan Jett. Take a look at Patti Smythe perform Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" on Youtube on the David Letterman Show during a late 1980's appearance. She belts it out of the park. Anne Wilson of Heart, Patti Smythe, and Pat Benatar had some serious pipes. Those female acts of the late Seventies and early Eighties are far better than the crap we have today.

Listening to oldies makes me feel old. Alternative is about the only way to escape all the Whitney clones. I even like Beth Ditto!
