ya know i dont understand why marietta GA wants to put a limit on what there clinics or DR perscribe i lived there for almost one year and there are far larger problems than a few pain pills going around what about the almost pure meth or what most georgians refer to as ice or glass. this drug is by far worse than a million pain pills. as well as the cocaine trade in GA as well it is no problem to walk the street in most parts of marietta and obtain meth crack or powder cocaine or the big bad wolf Heroin so get real and put your resources to much better use than people with real pain problems. The next step for someone in pain if not abel to legally obtain a perscription from there DR is the Big H so good luck on your crime rate Georgia when all these people turn to the very harsh drugs and your crime ridden state just gets worse and all the street thugs start to pop up in lovely roswell or sandy springs. Hell even at the starbucks in Dunwoody one block from famous re hab center MARR good luck with waisting your time and money.

Couldn't agree more,
But you miss the real reason, all city council members and high end officials are just like doctors. They get a cut off of the illegal drugs and in return manipulate the drug system by using resources like "ice" or "DEA" to pick and choose the drug dealers who are allowed to whole sale in there city. So I say all that to make sure you understand why legal drugs like pain pills and the legal drug dealers are not controlled by these evil men. Another words pain clinic are competition for the government in marreitta or any other large city. Now you would think they would just have a special tax or fee quarterly to open one so they would get paid off of that too but the problem with that is it would be on the books and for everyone to see. And that would hurt there image. They can hide the involvement with the illegal drug trade but ligal drugs they can't. So by shutting them down it does 3 things. 1. Makes them look good in the press 2. Creates more clients for there drugs 3. And eliminates any competition.
Hope this helps.

You have no idea how reckless many of these pill mills are with their over prescribing. Most of the people who come to me to have their Rx's filled aren't even GA residents -- they are only here because it is SO easy to get a Rx for 120+ Oxy 30's, and most other states are already monitoring pain clinics to prevent it from being a problem.
It's the crackheads using prescription narcotics as their hillbilly heroin who create the need for legal intervention.
